Painting Masterpieces?

So my main Sim needs to own 10 masterpieces to advance in her career, previously she painted one masterpiece after another, but suddenly it stopped. Now she very rarely paints masterpieces, no matter what her mood is, even Very Inspired doesn't get her any masterpieces. I already have bought the extra perks to increase the chance.

Anyone else have this problem? Am I doing something wrong?

    I think masterpieces are often made when sims paint from reference. when my sim does paintings of other sims, it always turns out to be a masterpiece, no matter what her mood is.

    I go to an art gallery to paint Masterpieces, if you have City Living, there is a really awesome gallery in San Myshuno. I put out all the Inspiration objects and activate them. You can even buy an Inspired Potion from the Aspiration Rewards. Also check your Entrepreneurial Skill, higher levels make better quality paintings, so does the Maker & Perfectionist traits!
