I didn't know until recently that our own, playable sims could become infected by the virus. My test sim managed to avoid it, but I've seen pictures of other player's sims who were not so lucky. So, I'm curious, what is gameplay like if your sim becomes infected?

Mine went into the spore hallway without suits last night. They were knocked out and then infected temporarily. At that time, the only actions you have are to walk around. Once it wore off after 20-30 sim minutes, my Sims were back to normal. Not sure how that works with the fruit, but I might have to try that next. :D

If you have two infected sims in the same household, they get special conversation topics with each other (and also with their mystery plant in the backyard). All they can do besides chat is sit, but I was also able to send one to work. It's not a good idea, because his performance there suffered. Oh, and they can also plant new mystery plants on their homelot (no need to have fruit in your inventory).Also I play with free will off, still the one infected attacked another sim on his own accord. They weren't in a conversation, just in the same room. Infected playables also attack other infected, when those are not in possessed mode at that moment.The two sims both ate a mystery fruit (for science, hem, hem) and their possession episodes return randomly lasting 3 hours each time (as opposed to the 30 minutes you get slapped with in the corridor).

I haven't seen all the interactions because it's side play but still.Oh and just in case if you have a new born.. not sure if it's a good idea to just have an infected adult in the household as they can't care for the baby. I guess that's a spoiler and frankly for a baby to be taken away in that instance would make sense but I can see people getting upset about it.I'm planning on making a sim that has a "herd" of infected basically a cult leader type also but I'll save that for later. I also want to play on the dark side and go another way for the story end...

One of my infected gorged on the fruit when he met his mom and had to realize that she didn't like him anymore :( He had to build up the relationship from a full red bar, but at least mom gave him plenty of fruit to keep him going. Maybe she didn't like the friends my sim had brought (two uninfected sims)?

I kind of like that it happens for 3 hours at 1 am. I know I can play her all others times and still have that crazy quirky episode every night. I note she is not tired after staying up all night as welll and is always happy once the episode runs the course.

I found her outside last night making friends with Uhtred of Bebbanburg and Vlad.
She spoke to them about plants in her garble and then spoke about human things. Both Uhtred and Vlad stayed and talked to her. Vlad was slightly wary of her (he actually seemed a bit afraid lol). Uhtred had the question mark bubble but was smiling and talking to her.

She snapped out of it while talking to them and they were like "Okey dokey guess we just act like THAT never happened" : )

I am having so much fun with this.

Yes.. You can click on the bed and try for baby with your infected love (the one doing the clicking wasn't possessed when I tried it so not sure that can happen... prob not). They can be actively possessed at that time. My sim found out she was pregnant while not possessed and would become possessed on and off during the pregnancy.

I was like "woah" when I saw it but glad they made it possible @floridameerkat .. I don't know how to look up hidden traits but if you feed toddlers the fruit they don't become possessed, kids won't either, teen and up only.
Although I always have two parents around or a nanny because when the mom get's possessed (she's had two babies so far) she can't take care of the baby at all. The possessed state doesn't last that long but I'm sure if it all lined up well you could be facing having the baby taken away.

@floridameerkat Do you have any bizarre fruit in your inventory? I just had my sim eat one and now he is infected. He already solved the mystery.

My infected Sookie used mischief and now she has infected Lucy (from 1992 dracula).

I made a short backstory for sookie. She is Pippy's first attempt to convert a human to a vampire and boy did it fail. Pippy has the guilty drinker trait and has never tried to convert another again. Plasma packs are her go to.

Sookie has her "episodes" and talks to others about her "mother" <<<<< Pippy

Sookie now is making her own little "coven" to make Mother proud.

Pippy is clueless and since she is a good Vampire, boy is she going to be mad when she finds out. Sookie is like Pippy's Igor/The monster combo. Pippy is very protective but she is not going to be very happy when she finds out what is going on.

I'm glad you liked it, my husband brought home the Bizarre Fruits, so now my Sims are possessed nearly all the time now, it happened again without warning and it freaked me out as none of them ate the fruit, but now I know that it happens randomly and there's no permanent cure for it so that's a bit weird.
