- I honestly hate building sims, I prefer playing the game so I usually just make my sim, his wife/gf and that is it. I can play with them as long as I want.
- A lot of times, I play a group of kids or teens from a neighborhood, so I don't want one of them to age up while the rest are still in school as they're all supposed to be in the same age group. So, I just age everyone up appropriately when I'm ready, including other family members. As for townies, if it's someone who has made it into my screenshots that I've used on my blog or just someone I've seen around town a lot or interacted with a lot, I'll edit and age them, too (or delete if they're already an elder). But, if I haven't really used them, then sometimes I let them stay the same age and just incorporate them into the next generation.
I also go into cas full edit mode and add some extra wrinkles to adults once their kids have reached the young adult stage just to keep everyone looking the age they're supposed to be. "Nindigo;c-16917349" wrote:
I grow attached to my Sims and thus don't feel like seeing them age and/or die. So why replace Sims I'm perfectly happy with? I play their life story and enjoy having them try out new stuff that is added to the game or mods. They are my little creations that I care for :)
Same! I played the same family for the first 3 and 1/2 years of the Sims 4 and only recently started over with a new family. I start with a single female sim, she gets married, then they start a family. My current family consists of parents, a toddler, child, and teen. The kids will eventually age up, the young adult will move out and the parents will have another baby. I like having one of each age group around. Both sets of grandparents are in the game so I also get to interact with elders when the whole family gets together.- Ladynightsin7 years agoSeasoned Ace

After putting so much work into them, I don't want them to die as quickly as the game does.
Yup, or i don't need the townie age up like my sims does they're not part of the game play i keep it off - I like playing with many families and sims as well, but only when I feel like it or get tired of my current household. Like the others, I wanna do things with them without rushing. I’ll age them when I feel like it fits the storyline im creating
- Evilfeline7 years agoSeasoned VeteranI have only one save with ageing off. I too would start too may saves and quit when my interest wandered or I wasn't in the mood for that type of character or game play anymore. Most of the time I have some idea of how I want a story save to go. Those saves I usually keep and play when I want to forward the story (normally through a family). Other times I start a save either because we've gotten a new expansion and I want to do a test save before using the content in one of my story saves, or I just want to play a particular way or type of sim that doesn't fit with my story saves. There were a lot of these saves cluttering things at the start panel, and more that were deleted. So now instead, I have one ageless save where are all the characters go so I can play with them when I'm in the mood. So far in this save there is archeologist, a group of friends struggling in the city, a mad scientist, a nature loving collecting loner, a cat loving loner gardener and a artistic childish alien. Yet to be added mood driven characters are the mean, angry evil criminal (not my normal game play, only when I'm really in a bad mood), my romantic woohoo the neighborhood sim, the good and regretful vampire, the evil vampire, and a struggling star (as well as others not thought of yet). That would otherwise be nine saves cluttering things up. Instead, I get to visit each sim when I'm in the mood for their kind of game play, I get to see all of them around town while playing and they stay the same (unless I change them). I still start a save with each new expansion for testing (later deleted), have building saves, and start saves for challenges, but using my ageless save has saved me a lot of space and the constant hassle of fixing a town the way I want it over and over again.
- I create new families all the time, but I never let any of them age. I see no fun in creating sims, leveling them up, spending so much time on them, only for them to die :/
- DeKaythePUNK7 years agoLegendYou will learn to love them as you play with them for so long.
- I find that sims age up too quickly for me. I like to start with a single sim and really build up their career/story before finding them a significant other. Sometimes, I like to add to the realism and they end up having three or four different relationships before settling down with someone. I turn off aging cause otherwise each relationship would just be really fast lol. Then when my sim does have children, I like to focus on their parenting skills and really have them connect with their kids :)
- I play with aging off for two reasons:
1. Because many of the characters in my game need to be just as they are. I cannot imagine them aging. Think Marilyn Monroe. I created her specially for GF, so that I could play the actress career, but I don't want to play her whole life story from childhood to death. Someone else might like to do this, but I don't. I do have other sims that I play less frequently and I wouldn't mind them aging, but the game doesn't let us pick and choose.
2. To me, aging is pointless without story progression. As I said, I wouldn't mind some of my sims aging and dying, but then I need them to be replaced. I don't want to have to constantly micromanage their reproduction.
