Question for you guys concerning foster children...

The label is misleading, it isn't a real adoption. All the option does is setting your adult sim as the girl's legal guardian for purpose of the parenthood interactions. She can have as many guardians as she wants and dismiss them anytime, too.

So no worries there.

I've got a similar situation in my game.

Backstory: I use MC Command Center mod so random townies get married/have kids (not necessarily in that order either). Summer Holiday had twin boys (Emory and Cameron) with Gavin Richards (he had about 9 kids with different Sims before he married Ulrike Faust), then she married Gunther Munch. My Sim (Cassidy Purdue) struck up a romantic relationship with Gunther at the Romance Festival (he's actually kind of cute underneath that dorky hat!) and eventually had his son, Jaxon. I didn't want Summer to automatically be Summer's enemy so I got Gunther and Summer to fight (storyline on that is she never really wanted to have kids and she took out her anger with Gavin on Gunther and the boys) and she divorced him. She sent Cameron (who looked just like his dad Gavin) to live with Gavin and Ulrike (Ulrike wasn't happy with that, Cameron reminding her of Gavin's wandering eye days), and was going to send Emory to Child Services (aka, deleted from the game) but Gunther grabbed him and took him to live with Cassidy and Jaxon. Gunther and Cassidy eventually married after they had a daughter, Michaela.

In relationship panel, Emory is listed as "roommate" to the rest of the family, even to Gunther his step-dad. He had the Clingy trait as a toddler, and now he occasionally gets tense around Jaxon and Michaela because they're not really "family members" (but not with Gunther or Cassidy, his caregivers) so he writes in his journal a lot to relieve the stress. So I'm assuming that eventually there could be romantic interactions between him and the other two children in the household (as well as Cassidy's brother's children, Kiara, Jamal and Jamilah). I'll just have to see where the storyline takes it.

(Epilogue: MCCC ended up marrying Summer to Morgan Fyres -- well, maybe that explains a lot... :D )

Nope, no step-parent/step-child relationship is created if you use the option that came with parenthood. The adult appears as "Betreuer" (engl. guardian) in the dependant's relationship panel and the dependant as "Angehöriger" (engl. relative, but again, kinda misleading) in the adult's panel. All romance options between the foster child and the guardian's biological children are available.
Just don't marry the foster mom to Vlad, because then she'd become the teen girl's step-mother for real.

I do that all the time in my pseudo-feudal rotational save: The nobility (and lately the rich commoners, too) fosters gifted teens with the express intent to marry them to their own offspring. I also set the summer camp instructors as foster parents for the duration of my class trips so that they can use the parenthood interactions on the students. It is such a handy feature :)

I love the "adopt as care dependant" option they added. It makes my blended families act more like a real family. I also create quit a few foster families in my game, I always adopt or foster children and teens in my game for my same sex couples especially and a few selected infertile couples, so this helps with that as well. I have found that the adoption option in my game has good genetics in most cases. The adopted offspring tend to age up attractive as opposed to not. Yes, I am shallow.

Okay, thank you guys!!! That's cool. I really wanted my future child to marry one of Vlads's daughters, but fate decided to kill her on my main sims wedding... her gravestone ended up in my garden and soon the ghost of her wandered my living quarters.
She was crying all the time and Vlad or her sister just wouldn't visit. It broke my heart! So i decided to keep her with me.
She made a wish at the wishing well and was revived! Now my sims adopted her <3 <3 <3 . I LOVE sims because of moments like these.... such surprising twists!

The buggers are down to headache-state now, thankfully. It's the secondary symptoms that drive me up the wall.

I also I have a question similar to this. My sim is married with Vlad and has a son from him. But she also has a daughter from Caleb Vatore and he sometimes comes and visits his daughter (uninvited and without an ask to leave option most of the time). So if I make Vlad adopt her as care dependent (even though they dislike each other because fucking Vlad keeps hissing) how would it affect her relationship with her biological father? Would he still show up at my house randomly? Would Caleb still be considered as her father? I want to do this but I am scared that this interaction will harm her relationship with her real father. (Btw do you know if male vampires can get pregnant by alien abduction?)
