I'm soon to set up my first business in the sims, running a bakery, and I've absolutely no idea how to go about it. This is the first time I've run a business in any sims game.Can anybody please recommend to me any useful articles about running a business?Also as it's a bakery I want to know which foods cake be sold. I'm guessing those from cooking, gourmet cooking and baking skills are all good, but as most bakeries also sell sandwiches, does anyone know if the lunch sandwiches from parenthood can be sold if your sim runs a bakery?

Yes, you can sell the lunch sandwiches from parenthood.

Use the "Pick up serving" function to split group meals into single servings to sell. The price is the same so easier to profit. Higher level foods make more money, generally.If you play rotationally it's also worth selling birthday/wedding cakes. Saves your sims some effort :p

Thank you both of you :) , the cake idea is a really good one! and with the onset of seasons I'm going to have them sell things like spooky cookies or whatever they're called in the run up to Hallowe'en, and great to hear about the sandwiches!! I just wish there were more than 3 sandwich fillings available.

There was an awesome thread in the Austrialian forum with many tips for running bakeries, but it might be lost due to the merge. I'm trying to see if a moderator can help me find it.

I run a bakery. I have the cupcake machine so I use that and also bake things. I have the refrigerator things to place the baked stuff. The customers open the refrigerator and buy it.It's not that bad, I just mark up the values. I earn a fair amount of money.

If I'm playing a household that isn't the ones running the bakery and they visit the bakery, will the sims who do run it be in there working?

Theres also the toddler quick meal sandwiches, Monte Cristo sandwich, Grilled Cheese, (Faux) BLT etc.

Not without mods, unless they've patched it.

Not without mods, unless they've patched it.

We've always been able to visit a bakery from a different family. Only the employees show up rather than the household.
