Sims Businesses and Hobbies Expansion Pack Negative thread.

Thank you for your feedback!  Shall be interesting to see what happens with B&H without FR.  

According to various reports on social media, the new retail system feels disappointingly dull and uninspired. Instead of a proper checkout process—or even a cash register—Sims simply grab items from the shelves and leave. This raises the question: what’s the point of having employees at all?

Additionally, it seems that display surfaces only support clutter and handcrafted items, meaning you can’t sell furniture like chairs or lamps. So much for "If you can dream it, you can do it!" (or whatever the blog promised).

The pack includes a few display shelves, but anything placed on them is automatically marked for sale. The system appears to function more like The Sims 3’s (Midnight Hollow) retail mechanics (minus the selling rugs, I guess) —just place items on a shelf, and Sims take them without much interaction.

EA is calling this "light retail," meaning for a full retail experience, we still need to own a dedicated retail lot like in Get to Work. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like we’ll be able to run proper retail stores from home, even if we own GTW (though I really hope I’m wrong).

I was incredibly excited for this feature, as I love managing retail stores, but it looks like it’s been heavily simplified yet again. Sigh. I guess I’ll have to wait for the gameplay trailer to see for myself...

"Buisness and Hobbise" sounds like the perfect title given the number and severity of bugs we're probably being sold yet again.  (As always, I don't fault the developers or programmers--the blame falls squarely on corporate for denying their teams appropriate time and resources, or any choice in whether to release the product by a made-up deadline or at the time the project is truly complete.  I, too, work under managers who fail to understand "if you don't have time to do it correctly, you certainly don't have time to do it again.")

When am I ever going to get a pool table for my dive bars...🙄🙂

Although I really love this world and seeing the preview of the world map for Nordhaven, I was a little disappointed there wasn't a lot of any size within the forest/mountainous area. I can understand why there wasn't because it probably would have been too little space, but I really wanted a lot a bit closer to nature. There is one big lot that somewhat close to the forest, so I am little hopeful but have lingering doubts.

We should be thankful. If one hobby could be called "hobbies" they would have only put one new hobby in the pack.

i need to see the gameplay for myself of course but based on the trailer it looked quite empty with the world itself

it's only Business related so the tittle in itself is already misleading, i know a few alternative names for this:
"Get To Business" "Work Together" "Get Busy" "Work And Home" "Business And Home"
this isn't hobbies related

if it was hobbies related you'd think it's like music, band, sport, play places etc related, maybe even daycare
we just have pottery, candy and tattoo skills but i don't count that as a hobby

i have mixed feelings with this pack

Outdoor activities and still nothing to cover when it rains or snows. Good businesses provide shelter to their customers.

This pack isn't designed to be ready for EP05 Seasons (2018). Maxis seems to be stuck in the endless Californian Summer.

The Sims 4 Businesses & Hobbies should be named The "Soaked & Frozen" Sims 4 : Episode 91.

Weather would be a nice thing for them to consider more regarding the game. There are still packs from before Seasons that have buildings that could be redone to be more weather prepared. Planet Honey Pop! and the Hare and Hedgehog cafe are two builds that stick out the most in my mind due to winter. 😒

The good thing about weather in this game is that you have the option to turn off features in your game like rain.

You really shouldn't have to do this but bugs like indoor rain can be annoying for gameplay and screenshots.
