Spooky Day isn't fun if you don't have Spooky Stuff

I don't have the Spooky Stuff pack (I had never been particularly interested in it), but the lack of the pack really makes Spooky Day from seasons very difficult. I've only once, across multiple games, had a trick-or-treater, and that was in a university dorm and there wasn't any kind of t-or-t interaction. I also don't have the vampires pack, and my towns seem to have very few ghosts or aliens, so the only holiday activities that I can meet the criteria on is decorations and costumes. Every other seasons holiday seems to have all that you would need to meet their criteria included in the game except Spooky Day. I think it's not fair that the game basically requires you to buy an additional pack to fully enjoy one of the holidays, instead of including some of those gameplay features (if not the same, then similar; and count "sing about spooky day" etc interactions for the spooky spirit activity) in the pack itself.

  • When it comes to the Spooky Stuff pack, even when the pack is installed it won't play a part in Spooky Day. It takes mods for the game to actually include this pack for the holiday and parties.
  • I love spooky day and even though I have the pack, I can confirm that sometimes no one shows up to trick or treat. I didn't know it was a bug, thought it had to do with lack of surrounding neighbors.

it doesn't. Spooky stuff won't add anything great to that holiday, you won't even be able to use the costumes with the tradition, it does not add more ghosts or more trickortreaters either...even with it, all the given traditions by the game are the same as they are without it.
I think they should've made trick or treating better and added a few new spooky costumes (that are actually useable at the holiday) especially for children. They already reused some of the decorations that are also in Spooky Stuff btw. lazy people...

I only have "decorating" set as a spooky day tradition and just throw a spooky party with goals off (since you don't have Spooky stuff, just throw a costume party) on a spooky looking lot that has the "haunted" trait.

  • The 1st thing I did when I was able to buy online back in 2018 was Spooky Stuff & Vampires. They always go together.

Spooky Stuff is one of my favorite packs. I own every pack that's come out.

I place the candy jar in an end table by the front door during spooky day. It's hilarious! A lot of people come for trick and treat. They get candies from the bowl and get scared with the animation ?

I know, I got the pack too ;) What I meant was, it doesn't add anything to the holidaytraditions that came with seasons, they are still the same and it doesn't improve on those either (like having more trick or treaters show up), as that seems to be what the OP is assuming.

It would've been cool though if additional packs also added new holidaytraditions to pick from, like this could have added "carve pumpkins" but it didn't....
