Suggestions for getting 2 households to initially interact without playing both?
I will use the example of household A where Sara lives and household B where Jim lives for this.
Basically I want Sara to meet Jim I at a venue without just bumping into him on the sidewalk and forcing her to say hi!
In the Sims 3 I would accomplish this by using a venue location (bar, coffee shop, park, ect) and forcing Jim to visit it either via a console cheat/mod or switching to Jim and having him drive there. Then order a drink before switching to Sara who goes to the bar with her friends. Jim would still be there with drink in hand, getting comfortable.
In the Sims 4 this approach DOES NOT WORK - for example I cannot play one household, visit a venue and then switch to the other because a venue lot resets when you switch households in Sims 4, unlike 3 where Sims persisted in the open world. Instead Sims 4 forces all the Sims to leave and rotates in new sims. This includes cancelling any actions you had the previous sim make (like order a drink).
The only way THIS method work now, is to play as Sara and go to the bar, walk to the farthest corner. Then switch to Jim and have him rush to the bar and IMMEDIATELY talk to Sara making her way to the exit.
Now they’ve met. Yes, but in a very forced way. And because I’m playing as Jim and not Sara, all he has to do is keep talking her up to score a date with her because he’s user directed by me. Which makes it seems unnecessary to have them in different households because there is no random chance anymore.
Where in the Sims 3, if I was playing Sara and Jim approached her randomly - he could fail, do something stupid, ect. It made my game a lot more unpredictable and fun to witness non-played sims interact with my sims.
A mod that would allow me to force other sims to visit a lot my sim is at, a gameplay method or cheat would be basically what I'm asking the community for please - if nothing else just a way to get 2 households to interact initially without playing both....
