I've tried out the talent competition a few times now. I sign up, and perform when it's my turn. I've performed a stand-up number, a song, I've told jokes, but every time the event ends with a "A shame for those who didn't participate", or something along those lines, as if I didn't participate at all. Anybody know if this is a bug, or if I'm doing something wrong?And no, I have no mods or any other game-wrecking elements. Thanks in advance. :)

I have no idea. I was hoping that by participating we'd have an increased fame level gain for a time or at least a moodlet for participating idk. The karaoke contest gives out a money if I recall correctly and there are places so I don't know why this one isn't similar.

So, I'm gonna dig out this topic. Did anybody manage to win the talent show?I recently bought this expansion and I have the same issue, I play, people clap, cheer, and then suddenly "not everybody participated", and nothing else happens, everyone leave. Is this feature completely broken?

The problem with the Talent Contest, no one pays attention to my sims unless they are at the top of the fame ladder. I really wished that this could be revamped a bit to make it a little better. Sims actually paying attention regardless to the sim as long as they don't sound horrible. lol

Talent show - am I missing something?

I don't think it's a glitch. I think it's more of an opportunity to show off your Sim's skills and increase your fame. I've used it to show off singing skills and interact with fans. I don't go to both events, though.

OK, so it's not something you win or lose? I'm just a bit confused, seems like I might as well just perform whenever, independent on whether it's an event or not.

Exactly, there's no consequence whatsoever after participating in the talent contest, unlike the karaoke one.

Most of the time I try to have my Sims go to Talent Night, it's in an outdoor type venue and invariably, it rains. So not worth the time or the effort. However, if you're trying to gain fame points, do bring a group with you and stream the performance. The more your Sim performs before a group of people, the more points they gain. It's along the line you can't be 'discovered' if you hole up in a closet. ;)

I read somewhere that you had to go to both, then the Accolades...but I don't remember where I read that.
