What do you think or do if your Sim suddenly flirts with someone that you don't like?

Way back near the beginning of Sims4, my Sim was already married, but I was attempting (and doing a much better job of it at that time) to play a true Rotation Style. When I got back to this Sims' lot, I was horrified to see he had another love interest! So, I did what we had to do in Sims3. I had him invite this Sim female over and got them into a rip-roaring argument to break them up. Turns out, it was all for naught, as I learned later on. Such relationships, (at that time anyway) were fleeting and meant nothing. I hope they still mean nothing.

Do you use MCCC? One of it's settings is a toggle that prevents autonomous flirting outside of already-existing relationships.

This rarely happens in my game, but if I don't want it to happen, I just cancel it and assign a different action to the Sim.

That's what I thought I recalled you having said in other threads...it's just very weird to me that you haven't seen autonomous flirting then.

I use a mod which stops my played sims from flirting outside of their relationships autonomously, but sims that are not marked as played as well as played sims that aren't in a relationship are fair game and it happens ALL the time in my game for them.

I had firefighters show up to put out a fire, for example, that showed up in a flirty mood and were going around flirting with every other sim on the lot...instead of putting out the fire...:lol:

Random flirting happening between Sims is okay until the flirting happens when one or both of those Sims is already in a committed relationship. I like to watch Sim relationships develop over time, and casual flirting is a good indicator of an attraction that possibly has a deeper meaning for those two Sims that I can't see or understand. If I have learned anything after twenty-plus years of playing this game, it's the fact I can't control everything when it comes to who my Sims choose to fall in love with. And even though they sometimes choose another Sim I would never have chosen for them, those relationships generally last and are happy unions. But once a Sim is engaged or married, I rely on a mod that prevents those Sims from straying.

Candy Behr and Jade Rosa were the worst. Anytime my Sims attended a social event those two dogs would target my Sims and start flirting in tandem. They both get deleted in every new save and Partihaus parties at home. A much smaller home that they can actually afford.

If it's just a random, one-off flirt, but they don't continue chatting and getting along autonomously, I'll ignore it.

If it's continuous flirting and socialising, and they build a decent relationship without input from me, then I'll give them a makeover and give them a chance. (Unless they have a trait that would conflict with generation goals during a challenge).

I'm pretty controlling with my sims, though at times random flirting has led to quite unexpected and surprisingly cute pairings. Overall I dislike my sims having a budding romance with the in-laws or strictly platonic friends. Or when random flirting occurs with a townie I haven't at least given a makeover to, you can bet that townie is getting insta-deleted.

Somewhere along the line the developers must have increased the autonomy for flirting. Or has it always been so aggressive? I need to look deeper into MCCC or something to stop this because it's getting a little out of hand in my game. I mean I play with mods but for some reason I haven't found a way to stop the random flirting.
