- While they haven't directly confirm a Seasons pack would come, they have mentionned it so often I think it's pretty much a given one would come at some point. When ? How ? That we don't know, but I have no doubt something about weather and seasons will come.
For example :

They wouldn't say that if they knew such a popular theme wasn't planned at all. They were fairly positive about toddlers or pets too, and we saw how that went. But how they will do it is a mystery though. There are lots of different ways they could explore the theme (like tying it with farming, natural disasters or vacation), there are different pack configurations they could use (like extra packs with new destinations). They could release an EP with Seasons, then a GP about a tropical destination, and another GP about a snowy destination for example. It would mean several packs about weather and seasonal activities, but that's what they did for TS2 and I don't think it bothered people too much. - atreya338 years agoSeasoned Ace> @Neia said:

I would be surprised if they combined it with with other themes. I think such a big game-changer deserves its own pack. They were the main focus on packs in TS2 and TS3. But then again, sims 4 doesn't do things like the previous games.
Although I'm still hoping on a free update and then the packs you just mentioned get some extra feeling with weather. Various surfaces broken in the last patch combined with a roof update in the November patch makes me hope they are getting things ready to add weather. - @Atreya33, what surfaces were broken in the last patch? I haven't played TS4 since this past Aug. nor updated it. I actually uninstalled it until they fix Origin and the TS4 bugs.

TS2 Seasons had gardening and fishing for example, TS3 had the festivals, so I wouldn't exclude it. I doubt we'll have new worlds and seasons in all the worlds in the same pack. They told us they could do one but not both in TS3, so it'll probably be the same for TS4."Neia;c-16215338" wrote:

And PlantSim. :) And juicers and veggies and fruit juices gave Sims particular perks, like faster homework. TS3 just didn't have festivals but holidays for the first time and activities like gift giving party and trick or treating (going to homes to trick and treat and your Sim could accompany the child dressed up) so I don't know if TS4 will add that much depth to their season pack since they already spent money on a stuff pack to have their watered down Halloween parties. :/"Cinebar;c-16215282" wrote:

That baffles me as well as I have not seen any surfaces that were broken at all in my game. Maybe they mean their CC that broke because they recoded all the furniture that comes with the games - which broke CC furniture of course, because it was made with the old code. This simmer might not realize CC and mods break when the code and script of the game gets changed. That of course is a CC problem - not a game problem and the main reason I NEVER use CC or mods in a developing game - as I know they break and just don't find them worth the hassle. But I honestly haven't had issues in my game with any of the surfaces. I learned my lessons with CC a long time ago. It can be very enticing - beautiful stuff - but in an ever changing game - don't let yourself be mesmerized unless you enjoy doing the hoop jumping with every major patch. LOL.- Did they mean like Oakenstead lot where the lot is uneven? and the Cubby lot in NC? Because though they patched those months ago they become uneven again and break tile placement etc. from time to time after new patches. It seems any uneven lot in TS4 causes all sorts of building problems. I ran into these problems myself several times after patches on at least those two lots. And if you had a foundation on the Oakenstead lot you would not be able to remove it sometimes, depending on which patch broke it again the next time. Even if you bulldozed the entire lot. I hate to hear those might be broken again.
- They definitely need to be in one pack. I never buy packs anyway, but if i'm gonna get seasons, they should all be in one pack with seasons and weather in each world.

Offhand I am not familiar with those lots. I have a bad habit of not paying attention to their names. Were they already built lots? Nowadays I almost never move my sims (that I actually play with) into built lots. (I used to when the game first came out - as there was no room otherwise.) I leave Maxis Sims where they are. I move Sims I want in the game as friends or love interests to my sims into already built starter lots and rarely do a lot to them. It's just a place to put Sims I wanted sort of protected from the cull monster - so I do very little to their surroundings - just add needed skill stuff, get them jobs - etc - and sometimes visit them with my Sims.
My Sims I start on a fair size empty lot and make them live within their means - no cheats. The struggle is real - in my game - lol. I will now have to check out those two lots. Curiosity grows. Thanks a lot. LOL.
ETA
Well Of course the Cubby lot would be an empty one for sure - being in NC. LOL. I'm being dull witted today - I think. Where will I find the Oakenstead lot - NC too perhaps?- keekee538 years agoSeasoned Newcomer

Sims 1 vacations were all in one pack as well as I recall. You just did not have any weather in the regular game.
You do realise you're talking about a game that was released almost 18 years ago? That would definitely be a time warp to go back to something that came out that long ago.
It has nothing to do with time - as plenty of other games back then had weather effects in them - it had to do with game design and that is an issue in this game as well now there are issues with adding anything to the game that affects finished worlds. Sims 1 did have the added issue of being 2 D too. But I played games like Baldur's Gate - all of them - Diablo - and many others back in the late 1990's- 2002 all had weather - fierce snow and rainstorms in fact -
Why be happy if they did this in 2017? As you said even other games had weather effects in the 90s. After Sims 2 and the amazing things they did with Seasons in Sim3, I would find it hard to be satisfied with a Sims 1 experience. The game already has too many limitations.
