I read some things were broken on sites with sims news but you are right. It's CC that's broken. I just wanted to say they changed the code (which led to broken CC, like you pointed out) but it feels to me they are changing and preparing things in game to handle something new, perhaps snow?
And I realise past seasons EP's had other features to accompany them, but those never felt like main features to me personally. They never called the EP's gardening EP (TS2) or festival EP (TS3). So I guess we'll just wait and see what other features they might combine with seasons. Assuming we will actually get seasons since nothing is confirmed yet. - I assume a Seasons pack would be the next big EP but after reading stuff I don't know if that guess would be right or really wrong. lol
All hints are pointing to a tropical vacation spot. (Which could be another GP) But considering they think pets was the biggest EP (what does that mean, by content, animations, stuff/decor, gameplay?) how small would a seasons' EP or GP be if they think pets was the biggest they needed to do. It has me worried weather would be broken up into different destination spots. Or the lack of gameplay if you look at C&D (and though they might think there is a lot or huge amount of gameplay in C&D many players don't think so) so if C&D was the biggest pack they needed to finish what in the world would be in a seasons' EP if C&D was the biggest?.....food for thought. Most likely it's the biggest from a business perspective, since he's a producer, so bigger in terms of ressources involved, risks or number of units to break even, this kind of things. They have already commented that doing animal animations and locomotion was a huge technical undertaking, so that makes sense. There was also the new CAP. So lots of works from all kind of different fields.
But that doesn't necessarly translate into how big or small it feels for us players, because when you're playing, you're most likely not thinking how much engineering went behind cuddling a cute puppy vs playing in fallen leaves.- ck2138 years agoSeasoned AdventurerThat choice is a little extreme for me, but I would certainly be very disappointed.
I would only buy packs that help with my investment in this game so far (University) and call it done.
I am not feeling worried about this from what a SimGuru has said about weather.
Weather in TS4 would certainly be awesome if we can set the climate and seasons of the various worlds, making them that much more immersive and unique. Why EA wouldn't do this is beyond me.
Windenburg, more wintery than the the other worlds.
Oasis Springs, dry and hot.
Willow Creek, warmer and perhaps wetter.
The rest, full 4 seasons.
To do anything less will only add another major criticism of The Sims 4.
Having weather confined only to one specific world bothers me more than weather packs.
If weather packs adds way more depth than past games had, and if the weather and seasons are available to all areas with the ability to customize them, then I would be ok with that. I would rather just have one pack with Seasons for everyone though. "Neia;c-16215469" wrote:

I would think making snow and rain water appear on every object in the game (if outside) in the existing worlds and all the backdrops and roofs, trees, FX backgrounds and objects etc. would be a huge resource commitment, too. So, I'm thinking we don't get weather in every existing world considering some of this stuff is merely FX and not actual objects setting in the worlds.- icemanfresh8 years agoSeasoned NewcomerPersonally, I'd love it if we could just set the climate for each world like with Sims 2 and 3. By default, they could have climate that makes sense (Oasis Springs has all summer by default for example), but the player should be able to change that.
In Sims 2, you could put winter in desert worlds. It didn't make sense, but if that's what the player wanted, it can happen. "You Rule" and "Weirder Stories" and all that. - CapitanTony8 years agoNew SpectatorTotally depends. As much as I'd like to have changing seasons in every neighborhood, I don't want it if it's going to make them all run like San Myshuno. If it couldn't be added in the existing ones it would suck, but if it had to be a new world to make it work, as long as it was done well and had all four seasons in that ONE world so my sim could live there and experience them all, I'd buy it. But otherwise I'm not really interested in travelling to a DIFFERENT zone every time to experience snow, rain, or fall separately.
- I would like to say for sure I'd be done if they split up the seasons into individual packs, but this is The Sims.. and It's hard to say a definite NO, Im not buying it. It's sad that we are even thinking they could do that to us. Weather should've been in the base game for the fourth addition of The Sims.
That being said, I hate how everyday is sunny. Ugh always the same, so boring.
Putting out that silly snowman Christmas deco they gave us in the hoilday pack just depresses me because Sims 4 Sims have never seen snow! Why make a snowman without weather? :/ - Loanet8 years agoNew Adventurerif Seasons don't come in some form in all worlds, I'm not buying it. Now there isn't much weather in the desert that is Oasis Springs, but no way am I buying it as piecemeal.
I do not believe that anyone that has invested in The Sims 4 up to and including buying and playing Cats & Dogs will throw in the towel so easy,
Having ultimatums such as all my way or the highway, seem to be coming from ones that have not invested in cats and dogs, and may not even be playing Sims 4, on regular bases if at all. In my option having Snow rain and fall/autumn virtually in every city or world, is not even plausible at this point and unnecessary.
