I tend to make routines for so many things, and to better keep track on it all, I often create a company or a job overseeing it.When a family moves:- Each household member adds personal belongings to their personal inventories. Such as photos, collections etc.- Furniture is added to the household inventory. There are exceptions like counters, plumbing, stoves and fridges. Ceiling lamps are normally left for the next owner, so are most garden plants.- Family moves. Selling furniture in order to leave counters/plumbing to next owner.- I take note of the value of their old house. Selling family must pay a moving fee to the Real Estate company, equaling to 5% of the lot value. I pretend this covers cleaning/moving vans/advertising etc.- My Real Estate company is now the official owner.- Another household wants to buy the house. They can visit the Real Estate company to check what is on offer.- New owner buys the house (with furniture) and moves in. They pay a 5% fee to the Real Estate company.The new owner will naturally add some new wallpapers or repaint the house. I think it is fun to place the furniture they bring from their previous home, and they often reuse everything for a start. They add stuff from personal inventories. Later on they might upgrade room by rom, depending on funds. I love it when they need to do these things gradually :)And, if you wonder what my Real Estate company is named, it is «Unreal Estate, Inc.» :)Are you doing something similar, or do you skip all logics and money restrictions?

I usually only have my sims take their personal stuff like collectibles photos and such because I spend so much time building all my worlds and I don't like having to refurnish my lots and definitely not gradually :lol: the only exception is when I give premade sims new house for first time then I might save some of the rooms on gallery to give them all the items they had that i think should be included in their new houseand i did do the whole take all the furniture with them thing for Jangs when i changed their apartment cause there was no way i was going to replicate that chaotic aesthetic they had going on without doing soand i did need their old apartment empty for other household anyway so it was also not a problem thereas for money yeah I just skip restrictions via freerealestate but when my sims are on their lot I usually erase their money so they from that point forward have to deal with the bills as usualeven if it was rags to riches you know i still might want to build some wreck of a lot to start with and i feel its just illogical to pay for a ship wreck on desert island for instanceall in all my sims don't really move much except for when their kids move out I usually set them house they can live eternity in

I do something similar to you but not as detailed. I make my sims take everything except the counters, plumbing, and ceiling lights, and outdoor stuff (with the exception patio furniture, I take that). I don't have a real estate system in my game but my sims only buy the houses they can afford.

My sims are pretty adventurous. Always ready for something new. Leave everything behind and start a fresh life somewhere else. If I had the funds and my partner didn't have to work (so that he could hop over to somewhere new as well), I would be the same way!

I only keep collectables/photos. I'll put it all into one sims inventory or a storage chest. Harvestables go into the household inventory. The house a household moves to will be empty to start fresh or it's already furnished to match the house.I've made a habit of saving right before moving so that if I forget anything then it's not a big deal to reload. It's really annoying when you leave behind urns, bikes, and cars (previous games).

When I have sims move, I only have them put their stuff into their inventories; to make sure I keep straight who has what, and then, I put anything else I want to keep into the household inventory, and then I move them.

Wow! I've never in my life moved a major appliance (fridge, stove, laundry) when I've moved.
Appliances are part of the housing inspection here when you have a house inspected that you're thinking of purchasing-- they just assume you're buying the appliances along with the house.

I think it depends on the buyer/seller honestly. All of the places I've lived as an adult we've been lucky to have the appliances left behind, with the exception of the washer and dryer. But as far as I remember most of my family have had to bring those things with them. I've only moved a total of 3 times in my life, though.

It’s extremely rare for my sims to move, unless it’s due to marriage or a child growing up and moving out. In these cases, there is often someone still living in the last house, so it often doesn’t get sold at all.

Your ideas sound really cool though!

Where I live I think fridge/stove normally are left behind. You can bring them with you, but I think it's normally done only if they are extremely valuable (like a nerdy import or design stuff). A super pro chef might like to keep their super duper stove. Often stove and fridge are integrated with the counters and stuff, besides you don't always know if you can use them in your new house/flat anyway.

Yes, leftovers and fridge inventory in general will automatically move as they are per household and not per fridge, but I do empty them for realism. I might not take out tons of vegetables, but at least deal with leftovers and glasses of water etc. And - some times a left over dish will actually be the first meal in their new home, perhaps before everything is "packed out" :)

My sims pretty much stay put, except for children growing up and moving out, but on the odd chance someone moved, I usually just take personal stuff/collections and evict them.

Same here. For my sims it's typical that they will move one or two times during their life. But one of those could be when they move out of their childhood home and for that one they'll only pack their personal stuff that goes in inventories. However it's not uncommon that they would also move to a new neighbourhood as a household. For a bigger move I would go through the house and manually sell everything they don't want to keep or leave behind, then the rest gets packed into their household inventory or sold (left in the house) when they move away. I like the real estate agency ideas, especially taking pictures of the available houses. Not sure if I would start something like that, but gonna keep it in mind, maybe! :)
