They instead seem to make very large zones, like the Foxbury Institute. I don't really see the point when the game is limited to 20 sims per zone. - If you are asking if there ever may be more lots in the neighborhoods of each world, my answer is maybe. I don't know if it is even possible to do this. TS3 gave us a patch that allowed us to place lots in empty-ish areas. I don't know enough about coding to know how difficult that would be the way the current neighborhoods are designed.
- I wish they would be, but I don't want to get too hopeful about it, and don't think they will.
- marea_a_moon6 years agoSeasoned AceI personally think it is hard to do, but i dont know the first thing about coding so my opinion is not based on hard facts or anything like that. They could make it up by making the upcoming worlds bigger. I actually still have so many empty lots to work with so i am not even bothered by that.
- Peapod796 years agoSeasoned AceI'd like them to be, but they won't be. They've already said that they decreased the sizes so people could run more packs without it impacting game performance on lower end machines. They don't want to have to up the requirements too much or they would lose a large swath of potential customers.
- I thought the reason Sims 4 doesn't have open world was to make the game run smoothly. I am not sure if I believe the smaller number of lots is to benefit the player. Perhaps they simply realize people will buy a game pack just to get more lots in their game.
If they continue on their current course I wouldn't be surprised if the Sims 5 base world only included one house, a gym, a bar and a library. I miss the giant worlds from Sims 3. - GalacticGal6 years agoLegendI wish, but in looking at it, the last world, Del Sol Valley is is ridiculously small, and I don't have EL, but I believe I have read from others that it's small, too. The handwriting it on the wall, I fear.
- Lustianicia6 years agoSeasoned AceThe developers made the claim years ago that finished worlds could, in theory, be expanded... but they haven't shown any signs of even trying to do it, so I highly doubt they ever will, unfortunately.
My biggest peeve is the fact that Windenburg (or however you spell it) is, by far, the largest world... and yet, I personally hate the Old English Village theme, so it's essentially useless for me... :disappointed: We haven't gotten a world even close to its size ever since, which is highly disappointing. Why can't we get a normal world that size!? - I find the Worlds a bit peculiar. The main screen artwork is quite bare bones with a few sketches surrounding the main lots, some of which can be misleading as to which are selectable, or not (StrangerVille and Windenberg). Whereas, once you're down on Lot level, the Worlds are full of buildings and properties which can be neither visited or occupied.
I know The Sims 3 had huge issues with Open World and much negative (and justified) feedback about Rabbit Holes but I preferred having the background scenery as buildings that were all accessible, in a manner of speaking.
Similarly to the neighbourhoods of The Sims 2.
I would also like to be able to place more Lots in some of the smaller Worlds. I've installed a lot of new packs and have barely any room to place the new amenities (Diners, Restaurants, Spas) - Sthenastia6 years agoSeasoned AceI see that noone belive that EA will do something in this topic.
