I’m on the fence about this one. I didn’t participate in the vote because I don’t actually own Island Living yet so I can’t give it a fair opinion, but I was really disappointed when it was released as a full on expansion pack and not a game pack/vacation world. I’ve been hoping for a tropical vacation world to be released. However, that being said, I also think it’s cool that it is a full world and I love that it comes with mermaids. I agree with @Rhiannon1307 that I wish it at least had the option for rentals. Who knows, maybe in a future stuff or game pack or patch they’ll give us hotels.
same - janyses7 years agoSeasoned AceBoth a vacation world and livable. That's how I'm using it now, thanks to mods.
- rpk3332367 years agoSeasoned AceVery happy it is a livable world. My sims who don't live here have no issue visiting as is.
- Cynna10657 years agoSeasoned AceIt Sulani was a vacation world, perhaps EA would have bothered to make a hotel system.

If Sulani was a vacation world I wouldn't have bought it.
Also, way to miss the point of the pack. Hotels are absolutely HORRIBLE for the environment. - Lemon4057 years agoRising HotshotI’m not the least bit interested in any more “vacation” worlds. I wish they’d convert the two we have now. There’s no reason for such restrictions. The Rental lot trait should be available in all worlds as well as the Residential trait.
I can live with the retail lot as second home work-around (though we shouldn’t have to at this point!) for now, but the lack of options for “vacation” worlds is inexcusable with how small some of the “livable” worlds are. - Would have been better as a destination world. Not a whole lot to do when living there, and if you’re going to have Sims “visit” the islands you might as well just turn it into a vacation. It’s also not like the features of the world work anywhere else, so if you want to do them you have to travel there. Kind of the same concept as OR, JA and those are vacation game packs.

Except for exactly everything you can do anywhere else. Well except building snowmen, I guess. "Beardedgeek;c-17154766" wrote:

They don't have to be, though. They could have been little, traditional B&Bs or something else. And, in-game, any type of building isn't more environmentally friendly or unfriendly than another. You can build huge mansions that would take massive amounts of power on Sulani if you like. Same as restaurants, gyms, anything else that belongs in "civilisation", so why not hotels?
They could have also come up with something completely new, like making an AirBnB type of system where you can rent out space in your own home. There are so many options here. It doesn't have to be a 30-room, high-tech hotel."hunniboo1;d-962506" wrote:
I honestly can see it being both but I like it where it is
How about both a vacation world and a home world. I would have liked for them to add the option to pick Sulani as either my home or a vacation destination.
