Game Crashes Back to World Select Menu. UI Issue Followed by New Crash

 

EDIT: I have identified the issue as being creating a custom venue schedule from scratch. If I change a preset schedule that comes with the adventure await packs then I don’t have the problem.


Yesterday I updated my game, downloaded the new pack, and everything worked fine with my existing mods (MC Command Center and UI Extension).

Today I played for hours (building and CAS) with no issues. (I did download some tattoos from the Gallery, including one that I now suspect may be stolen CC, which did not display on the sim. I replaced the tattoo.)

The Problem

When attempting to load my new household, the game loads briefly, then immediately kicks me back to the World Select Menu.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken

  1. Turned mods/CC off via the Game Options: Issue persisted.
  2. Repaired the game via the EA App rhe issue persisted.
  3. Created a brand new test save the Issue persisted.
  4. Temporary Fix. I created a new save and removed all tattoos from the sim (in case the broken CC was the culprit). This allowed me into the game, but the UI was completely glitched and unplayable.
  5. Turned mods back on to see if this would fix the UI. This surprisingly fixed the glitched UI.
  6. Tried to place my new build from my Library onto a lot. I am now back to the original problem—game loads then kicks me back to the World Select Menu. 

important note. I have no CC in my game only the MC Command center mod and the UI mod.  I also do have all the packs so downloading tattoos shouldn’t be a problem. I am playing on a Mac laptop with the most recent version of the game installed. 

Does anyone have any suggestions?

    kkaylaa44​ It could be the build itself that's an issue. Does it happen with any lots/builds that come with the game itself, when you have no mods/CC? If so, please attach the new lastexception file. You can use the Reply window paperclip.

    kkaylaa44​ Was this a Gallery lot? If so, please test with a lot that's already in the game - this is to rule out that it's not that build that's your issue. You can change one to Custom Venue.

  • luthienrising​ I just deleted that and last exceptions and it was working until I put the lot I built back in the world. The lot is a custom venue but Thursday it was letting me play with a custom venue I built without any problems. 

    I have determined the problem is exclusively with creating a custom schedule from scratch for a custom venue. If I take a premade one and edit it then it seems to be working

    kkaylaa44​ Turning off mods without deleting the localthumbcache file could mean the game still sees some impact from some mods. It's a good file to delete at game updates if you use mods, and any time you change what's in the Mods folder. Try doing that.

     

  • I was playing Thursday with the mods with no problems and yesterday I did try removing the mods and it didn’t fix the problem. Having the mods in the game is the only thing that is helping the UI problem. Either way the mods aren’t affecting the gameplay as it doesn’t work with or without them.
