About This Thread This thread tracks Sims 4 mods and CC that have been "broken" or made obsolete by game update 1.116, July 1, 2025 (Fairies!) and the July 10, 16, and 29th hotfix mini-patches or declared unsupported by their creators. It also tracks updated game mods and important updates to custom content. If you use mods, this thread's compiled lists and ongoing reports can help you prevent game errors and help you avoid having to batch-test your whole Mods folder. SORT THE THREAD FOR WHAT YOU NEED: For the COMPILED LISTS, which are updated most days, sort by Oldest For the MOST RECENT NEW INFO, sort by Newest Some things are NOT covered: Early-access content and anything else behind a paywall Creators/mods outside the T (for Teen) game rating (no adult mods! including murder etc.) Creators/mods outside the EA and EA Answers HQ rules, and the Maxis guidelines for Sims 4 content creators Separate translation files Loading screens, CAS backdrops, main menu backgrounds, and poses unless the creator says an error is fixed Sims 4 Multiplayer Mod updates that don’t change the version number CAS and Build/Buy CC unless the creator says they're fixing an error or catching up pack content Mods and CC hosted on sites that are mostly adult content or that require joining an 18+ site NEW: Creators who update other creators' CC/mods when the other creators are still active or who upload folders of other people's mods and CC. Why: While there may be no legal issues here, these mass uploads cause problems for Simmers, who quickly end up with mods they didn't know they downloaded, duplicates, and broken mods. Not everything legal is ethical. In addition, news for mods/CC hosted only on Mod the Sims may be selective and/or delayed. In the end, YOU are responsible for your mod use. NOTE: There’s a game bug for this too, with a bugfix mod (see below) that affects only game Milestones not custom ones. Known Issue: custom recipes (food/woodworks/etc.): Due to coding changes on EA’s side, you might not be able to just pick and choose which custom recipes you install for a custom food/woodworking or similar recipe cookbook/tool. If you’re getting last exception errors that mention a recipe, try installing all the recipes that go with a mod. Yes, this will slow down your fridge menu loading -- consider using fewer custom cookbooks. If you remove some, remember to delete plates/food first.. [OLD] Broken and Updated Sims 4 Mods and CC: 1.116, July 1, 2025 Game Update

About This Thread

This thread tracks Sims 4 mods and CC that have been "broken" or made obsolete by game update 1.116, July 1, 2025 (Fairies!) and the July 10, 16, and 29th hotfix mini-patches or declared unsupported by their creators. It also tracks updated game mods and important updates to custom content. If you use mods, this thread's compiled lists and ongoing reports can help you prevent game errors and help you avoid having to batch-test your whole Mods folder. You can bookmark this topic in your browser and sort by NEW to check the day-by-day lists of additions that start after the compiled lists. You can follow this topic to get notifications of new posts, which will arrive by email if you set up email notifications.

SORT THE THREAD FOR WHAT YOU NEED:

For the COMPILED LISTS, which are updated most days, sort by Oldest
For the MOST RECENT NEW INFO, sort by Newest

Some things are NOT covered:

Early-access content and anything else behind a paywall
Creators/mods outside the T (for Teen) game rating (no adult mods! including murder etc.)
Creators/mods outside the EA and EA Answers HQ rules, and the Maxis guidelines for Sims 4 content creators
Separate translation files
Loading screens, CAS backdrops, main menu backgrounds, and poses unless the creator says an error is fixed
Sims 4 Multiplayer Mod updates that don’t change the version number
CAS and Build/Buy CC unless the creator says they're fixing an error or catching up pack content
Mods and CC hosted on sites that are mostly adult content or that require joining an 18+ site
NEW: Creators who update other creators' CC/mods when the other creators are still active or who upload folders of other people's mods and CC. Why: While there may be no legal issues here, these mass uploads cause problems for Simmers, who quickly end up with mods they didn't know they downloaded, duplicates, and broken mods. Not everything legal is ethical.

In addition, news for mods/CC hosted only on Mod the Sims may be selective and/or delayed.

In the end, YOU are responsible for your mod use. Because not all content and creators are covered on this official forum, many of you should be following creators directly for news. The pinned topic How to Use Mods and CC includes advice about game updates, mod management, finding broken mods, and how to avoid downloading broken and malicious content. And remember… Back up your Saves folder!

HOLIDAY NOTICE: I will be away on holidays August 16-20, and most of August 21-22. The next base-game update will be August 19. I’m arranging for a tentative new list to go up, anticipating what is likely to break based on what’s known about the patch ahead of time. Information on how to manage your mods at game updates and how to test your own Mods folder is in How to Use Mods and CC . Mod creators also often post what’s broken, and you can check with them directly for updates too. (Once upon a time, before I started these lists in 2015, that’s how we all managed!)
