The pre-Lovestruck expansion update caused this glitch Staff claimed this is fixed. It is NOT FIXED. I've spent HOURS trying to fix this as the other thread said to. It's not working. I have spent SO MUCH money on this game to have to be ENTIRELY UNPLAYABLE. Please fix ASAP, this is unacceptable.

Same here, I still have the problem that the patch was supposed to fix. My game does not respond as soon as I try to enter the simology panel of a todler or a teenager. I tried removing my mods, reparing the game, but nothing works.. 😞

I'm very annoyed and disappointed in the roll-out of this patch and its subsequent attempted fixes. I was very excited about the new expansion pack, but that excitement is gone now, considering I can't even play the game.I've been trying to get ahold of the Sims team through @TheSimsDirect on Twitter/X but have had no luck. Since the last update/ lovestruck releasing , i have had various issues with the game which have all been fixed so far, however this is new: whenever I click the child Simology tab my whole game GUI stops working apart from the help centre, I have found no way to fix this and it makes the game unplayable. I am unable to save or access the options menu at all.

I have the latest update, that one is the latest big one but I always update my game to the latest version.

Try the following

Close the game

Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old

Repair the game

Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. Be aware that your claimed event rewards will also be gone for the time being but you will get them back with your other things.

Start a new save game

Check if you still have the error

Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.

You can now start to copy back things from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old to the new Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder that was created.

First only copy (I suggest to copy so you can go back in case anything goes wrong along the way) the content of the folder Saves (these are your save games). If you are prompted if want to overwrite a save, decide if you want to keep that testing save you just made or not. If not, just overwrite if, if you want to keep it, rename the save to a different number that isn't taken.

Test just your save game with nothing else added back. If that works, you can start copying back the rest. If not, check back.

You will need the following folders

- Tray (your households and lots you have saved to library)

- Usersettings(.ini) (your event rewards)
- Custom Music (if you added any)
- Screenshots (if you've taken any)
- Videos (if you've taken any)
- ConfigOverride (if you made any although I recommend redoing those)
- Options(.ini) (although I recommend to just redo your settings in the game)

All other files are recreated and not needed.

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Every time I click on the Simology menu, it fails to open, glitches on with almost no information, and then none of my panels will open, including everything in the bottom corner, build mode, traveling, and the save popup
What happens when the bug occurs? I have to force-quit to exit the game, which doesn't give me the option to save it, and I am unable to click on any sim information, go into build mode and back to live mode, view the gallery, or travel
What do you expect to see? I expect the menus to open and clicking on any of the panels to not break the game
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes, but they are all up to date and have never caused a problem like this before

I saw that this had been fixed on console a week ago, but I am still having this issue on my system and the game is unplayable right now

@Gondorian111 Many non-updated mods are broken. Please do a "vanilla" test: Drag the Mods folder to the desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache, open the game to test, and exit without saving.
