Re: [ARCHIVED] How to use Mods/CC on PC

Hi! I found a fix to this issue! Unfortunately it involves completely wiping your sims 4 files which means losing your save files. However it completely fixed my issue!

Step 1: create another folder that will hold all your cc and script mods, move all your mods from your mod folder to a backup folder

Step 2: Remove your sims 4 file location, the entire thing from the electronic arts section.

Step 3: Go into EA, uninstall Sim 4 and double check that the sims 4 isn't in the electronic arts and its deleted

Step 4: Re-install sims 4, choose your install location

Step 5: Once sims 4 is reinstalled, run it and turn on mods/script mods

Step 6: Close sims 4, open the backup folder containing your mods and move them back into the mod folder!

Everything should be fixed now!

I did this and it fixed my game. Tip though if you don't want to loose your saved files.

Before you uninstall The Sims go to the saves folder (when you find the MODs) copy all those to a new folder just on your desktop is fine.

Then put them back in the saves folder when you install The Sims again. Everything works 🙂

  • @Neefa glad this helped! Thanks for the heads up about the saves, I didn't really mind losing mine though ^^
