Re: But there isnt any obstruction...?

Re-starting the game has not worked at all, any of the times I've done it.

Saving it saves the 'bug' too.

So... even weirder... I thought it might work to delete the floor of that room and try again.... it did not fix it, but I did learn... if I raise that floor higher than the rest of the house, it works. The moment the floor of the bathroom is the same as the rest of the house, it refuses to work.

I dont know what happened, but when I reloaded after replying, the cabinet was in the spot I wanted it. I had to replace the outer wall, and when I did, it raised the floor (grr), but the cabinet was still in place, so I just lowered the floor to proper level and hurriedly finished the bathroom.

I anticipate other problem areas during this decoration, so stay tuned.

Also, does anyone know how to switch from the game to google chrome without saving and closing the game every single time I want to reply? Apologies, I am still very new.

The washing machine did the same thing in the laundry room. Again, I had to raise the floor level, place the item, then lower the floor again. I am not sure WHY this is happening, but at least I found a solution that works for the time being.

    Folks, I give up.

I was ALMOST DONE, when a mere plant wont go against the wall outside the house. I cave, lol. I'm going to just build a whole new house on a different lot. I dont know WHY this one is doing this to me, but I quit. This is the bug report... may the game tech's do something about it... or not... hopefully it wont be my problem anymore once I rebuild on a new lot.

You must be running in full screen mode.  I just use Alt-Tab.  That minimizes the game to your tray at the bottom of the screen.  Just hit the game icon to come back to the game.  Works for pretty much any program.

Given what you said about the floors changing height and having to replace walls, does the entire floor level raise up or just a room?

The reason I ask, is if it is just a room and not the whole floor level (all rooms on the floor) that changes, it sounds like you started the build using a platform for the base instead of using the room tool or you have been using the platform height adjustment arrows instead of the big arrow that shows up in the middle of the entire floor.

When I look at your pics, all I can see is what looks to be a foundation that has been raised up by 1 click which is the same height as a platform when you place one.  So I can't tell which way you built the house.

    Hope this helps.

OMG Yes, I've fussed about that since I started playing. A whole room raises up, sometimes the adjacent room raises up too. Mostly it happens when I close in a space... add the final outer wall, close off a room from the rest of the house, etc. I posted about it in another thread. Seems many have the same issue.

Ok, I understand better what I'm being told, forgive me for being new.

Yes, I use the platform to make it, but I have learned due to the floor raising issue to build the platform as one giant piece, then to section it off (with walls DOWN so I can watch for any raising and correct it) with walls. I pay CLOSE ATTENTION to make sure the floor is just the ONE base level it auto-gives when laying floor, including watching the lines to make sure they dont QUITE line up right with the 'grass' and, when comparing to other rooms of the same floor, often take out and put back walls to ensure they're all the same level. THEN, when the WHOLE FLOOR is done, I raise the arrow in the middle rather than the adjustment arrows to create the foundation.

I THINK what happened in the first house is that I used the side to side arrows to EXTEND the wall... I wanted the hallways to be 3 wide rather than 2 wide, so I just pulled the arrow sideways to widen it. Nothing along that line worked right ever since. Actually more like adjacent, as that line worked but nearby lines stopped working. When I build the second house, I made sure NOT to do that, and the problem did not repeat itself.

Yeah, a lot of people do that and then things like what you ran into happen.  But imo, you should start a build using the room tool.  That gives you a flat foundation to start with and if you want elevation changes, like a sunken area or a raised area, use a platform for just the area you want at a different height.

You'll get the hang of it though.  It just takes time and a lot of patience to learn the quirks of the build system and the only way to do that is to just do it.  The order in which you do things makes a difference too.  It's hard to explain since it's a pretty complicated process but I have found ways to get what I want in the end most of the time.  You just have to keep working at it.

    Hope this helps.

Doesn't work for stairs either. I'm trying to make the stairs wider and it's not working. I've tried everything. Nothing's working

Sometimes I save and back out to the main menu, then try reloading again. Does that help with the stairs?

@OrangeSummers355 Hi!  Would you mind sharing a screen capture of your build?  It would really help to understand the issue you're having.
