Re: CAS infinite loading screen after 23. 07. update

After patch 1.108, infinite loading of CAS causes include:

  • thepancake1 and MizoreYukii – Color Sliders – update available on Patreon
  • thepancake1 and MizoreYukii – More Traits in CAS – update available on Patreon
  • King Zace – 15 Clubs per Sim – update available on own site/Tumblr
  • weerbesu – More Columns in CAS – update available on Patreon
  • Midiar – BetterSims – update available on own site and Curseforge; NOTE: this mod includes the same features as Zerbu's Custom Preferences Mod (see below) and probably conflicts with it
  • TURBODRIVER – WonderfulWhims - update available on MTS and itchio (no longer has a likes/dislikes category)
  • PolarBearSims – Have Some Personality Please – cleared in testing for CAS loading but has other issues
  • TwistedMexi – All Scenarios
  • custom preferences mods that don't use EA categories; these also cause crashing with randomization
  • complex mods that include a custom preference or preference category, which may include adult mods that cannot be named on this site so please don't do that, and other mods that for various reasons (mostly related to EA/Maxis rules for Sims 4 mods) are not supported
  • KB – woodysome part 3 stair set (further confirmation needed)
  • Ravasheen – OSMP shelf (further confirmation needed)
  • Snowii95 – trait mods – not confirmed by me, but these were broken anyway

There are almost certainly other mods causing this. Those include mods that are not supported at EA Answers HQ. The list here is not every possible cause. Testing instructions are here: 50-50 

For the custom preferences mods, Zerbu has released The Custom Preferences Mod, which is available on Tumblr. Mods might still need updates for the randomization problem. In general,consider exiting CAS and saving your work before randomizing likes/dislikes. Not all modders post enough info for me to add them to this list, but below are modders whose preference mods can be cleared for randomization:

  • Andirz (updated Weather Preferences)
  • Chingyu
  • JaneSimsten – Secret Occults (Aug. 9 update)
  • Kuttoe
  • Simularity
  • Helaene, PreferencesPlus (updated version) - BROKEN

    Hi, 

    I have just made sure to uninstall these mods from my game as well as CAS ui mods, but I am also experiencing this issue with cas

    @woomieez many complex mods might have a custom preference built into them. You may have to go deeper to find the cause. See the Solution post here too.

    @luthienrising I managed to find a hidden custom preference! for some reason just typing "preference" into the search doesn't bring them all up, but it's fixed now thank you 🙂

    Just wanna add that Zerbu's Custom Preferences mod fixed my issue even though I didn't have any of the mods named in the post. It was probably a mod that added custom preferences.

    Thank you so much!!! I am such an idiot, honestly I don't know why I don't think about the fact that MCCC needed updated and some of the others you listed. I'm sure the Columns in CAS was a issue as well and I have Chingyu's mod downloaded, so I downloaded Zerbu's mod to help that one. I am no longer having the issue and can finally get into the edit sim screen! 🥰

    hello!

    I've also encountered this issue, but only with one household, which happens to be my main household I play with. Any other household I can load just fine into CAS, but whenever I try to load this specific household it infinite loads and I have to taskbar close my game.

    I've updated all the mods listed as possible causes, also all the usual mods I use such as mccc, ui cheats, etc. I also deleted any preferences mods that I couldn't find updates for, but this one household still won't load.

    I can load the household in live mode to play with it, but even from live mode going into CAS it infinite loads still. Any idea what could be the cause of this?

    @rrreeeaaa My suspicion would be that a Sim in that household is using newly broken CC, or something like that. Unfortunately, this might mean 50-50 time. There are also a whole lot of new updates in the list today (check the last page for this morning's post), so hopefully something there helps.

    @luthienrising ive been stuck on cas infinity loading screen for 2 weeks updating all my romance mods thinking it was because of that but turns out it was the add more traits mod 😭 thank you, you saved me lots of time, confusion and anger at myself!! i'd never think it was that

    Quick note for people following this thread that Turbo has updated Wonderful Whims. It's availabe on itchio and MTS but, as on today, isn't on Curseforge yet. It no longer has a likes/dislikes custom category.

    I don’t have any of those mods but I’m still getting infinite loading screen?? Even with the removed mods
