@luthienrisingwell I don't know if they're causing it per say but it started working when I removed them in construction mod and all my scripted mods are up to date as I made sure to update them for the patches (lumpinou, chingyu, adeepindigo, basemental, mccc)
I played on Sunday and had no problem with any beds/infants then downloaded the high school and wedding pack on monday (as far as I know it's the only thing that changed) and I could not hold the infant anymore when I tried on wednesday. I'll probably 50/50 my mods if it doesn't work when I put cc beds back but hopefully it does
@HappyFeet128 You might also want to check if there's a Sims 4 Studio batch fix, if it turns out to still be an issue for some CC beds. And test them in batches.

ok so I tested holding the infant after adding each bed and it worked fine for the cribs and a single bed but the error happened again after I added the parents bed ([N] Nora bed by Nordica) which is weird because it worked fine on Sunday on the same lot with the same bed.
I do use an outdated sims4studio version I think and I did open the bed with it on Monday or Tuesday because I was looking for ccs I didn't use anymore to make some room.
Do you think there's something I can do to stop having this problem with the bed? I use it a lot it's practically in every one of my residential lots so I'd hate to remove it
by batch update do you mean for sims4studio itself? can it fix the bed?
edit: I have found a batch fix that might help? I don't know if I can put links on there but it says "the High School Years expansion added pillow fights on beds. This batch fix updates CC beds so your Sims can pillow fight on them. The batch fix has been tested on double beds, single beds, double mattresses on separated frames, and single mattresses on separated frames."
so because I downloaded the high school pack and started having this problem it seems it could be it?
@HappyFeet128 That's very likely to be it. A bed that is missing the pillowfight code could be causing other issues. You can batch-fix all the CC beds you've got and see how that goes. I haven't done a batch-fix for a while, so I'm not sure if you can limit it to just certain beds.
