Sims can't interact with themselves or each other after June 2023 Update

So, I've been seeing this problem, which has never happened to me. I've been playing TS4 since 2020, and I've been playing it with mods and CC for around the same time, and I've constantly updated my mods and cc, but now I've noticed an issue.

Whenever I click on my sim or another sim, nothing pops up. With mods, I've got other interactions, and I tried the same with the ground, but nothing seems to be happening.

I've been spending days sorting my mods and CC out, I've lowered my number of mods/cc from 5000 to 1000, and I'm working on mods and cc that I use as opposed to I liked them, and I still cannot figure out WHICH mod or CC is broken. I tried to download tray importer, but the site it was on said it was recently hacked, and I'm paranoid about that, so I've been using mods manager and Twisted Mexi's Better Exceptions. I'm nowhere near identifying the problem mod/cc causing this. Also, I wouldn't say I like playing the game without mods and cc, as it feels so dull without regency, expanded mermaids, or even royalty. If anyone else has experienced this problem and solved it, please let me know how because I don't want to lose all my saves and my family, I've worked very hard on them. Thanks, everyone.

The current mods I have

TURBODRIVER's

Jane Simsten's Regency Romance, Archery, Harpsichord, playable harp, lute skills

Sacrificial Mods' Hoe It Up, Life Tragedies, Life's Drama, Extreme Violence, Slow Dancing, Passionate Romance and Romantic Skygazing

Spinning Plumbobs' Expanded Mermaids, Occult Preferences and Werewolf Containment Box

Lupinou's rambunctious religions

llazyneiph's royalty mod

Basemental

  • @simsluver21   Hi!  It can be so tedious testing mods / CC when you have so many.   If you have your mods / CC divided into folders already, then perhaps you could just test the game one folder at a time.  Otherwise, click the spoiler below for the steps I use for testing. It is my variation of the 50/50 method that has worked for me.

    Spoiler

    1. Create a new game for testing so that your current save is left unchanged until you've identified the problem mods/CC.

    2. Create some folders on your desktop; perhaps one labeled "Tested Safe Mods-CC", another labeled "Mods-CC Needs Testing" and one more labeled "Broken Mods-CC" so you know which ones to check for updates. This will keep tested mods/CC separated.

    3. Exit the game if you haven't already, and divide your mods/CC in half; put one half in the Needs Testing folder and put/keep the other half into the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 / Mods folder.

    4. Delete the localthumbcache.package file, located in the Documents / Electronic Arts / The Sims 4 folder before opening the game with the half you're testing,

    5. If the game works with that half, exit the game, move that half to the Safe Mods-CC folder and move the remaining "Needs Testing" mods back to the Mods folder to test (Again, delete that cache file before opening the game.)

    6. Once you know which half is causing the issue, divide those in half, keeping one half in the "Needs Testing" folder and one half in your Mods folder, and test again (delete the cache file each time after moving mods/CC and before opening the game) and moving mods/CC not causing problems into the Safe folder.

    7. Repeat this process until you find all that are broken.
