CAS and Build-mode Glitching

I play the Sims 4 on the Xbox One. I have no mods (obvs) and don’t even own all the content. Today when I loaded the game, both CAS and Build-mode were glitching. Genetic sims creation UI was busted. Over all, Some menus wouldn’t open, the ones that did, did so incorrectly, and control options would randomly disappear.  The cursor would pop in and out of existence, and I would occasionally get locked into a menu. No buttons would work. The only way to get out was to remove the batteries from my controller. I played yesterday and everything was working fine. I’ve quit the game and restarted my Xbox. The only thing I haven’t done is uninstall and reinstall the game. I’m nervous to do so because the last time I did I lost saves. 
Is anyone else having these issues? I assume there was an update or something? I hope EA fixes the bugs soon. Any advice?
