Military Medal Display Case not working. Glitch from update?

I downloaded my family from my other save game to the gallery and then added them to my new save, and then went and emptied their inventories into a little random room I also put on the gallery to transfer to the new save. His career stayed the same level and everything when I downloaded the family from the gallery, but it won’t let me use the display case. I drag the medals and they just end up on the floor under it. I even turned off build cheats to see if that was it. There’s no message saying he doesn’t own them and I tried gifting everything to him just in case, but no dice. Someone suggested buying a whole new display case, and I tried that, and it still didn’t work. Also tried turning cheats off and on and vice versa, and nothing is helping. I also aged up my children Sims in CAS and the now toddler is still having infant quirks and the now children are still having toddler moodlets, and I don’t know how to fix that, either. Is this just broken bugs from the update maybe?
