[PS4/XB1] Updating Graphics Settings Message

It is getting worse !

I try everything to make the xbox one s less stressed by the Sims4 game...

... but the forced adjusting of the graphic-settings are happening faster and faster !

Soon, the only objects i am allowed to place on my sim-proberty are : one tree, one room ,one bed, one chair, only 2 sims and no pets nor horses ...  but let me guess : if it is a problem caused by the game - even this will lead to forced adjustment of the graphic-settings and blurre the texture.

What did i buy all the dlcs for, ( for example: motif wallpaper , horses ...) if i can't use them, because the console is so heavily stressed by it ?!

Is there anyone, who deals with this topic ?

I am sorry , but i just now had to restart my xbox-one S (again) because the graphic was blurred step by step , ... till i couldn't take it anymore.

As i started playing Sims4 with the basegame, than weather-dlc, pets-dlc, magic- dlc ... i /my xbox never had any problems !!! I never had this (forced) graphic -adjustments !!!  (about 2 to 3 years ago)

Just now my sims visit a place, i visit so often before without any problems ... blurred ...

By now, while playing Sims4 , the xbox lower the graphic during every!  saving , loading - places, - worldmap, - private galery/library, - householdsmanagement ..

I already reduceg everything i can ! but it is still this way, more precisely : it does not realy help or change this issue.

It is realy frustrating. I remember the beginning of playing Sims4 (the same console - by the way), everything fully packed : the sims inventory, max. householdmembers, sooo many played and non- played households, the maps were filled with played families and properties and so on ... and there was NEVER a forced graphic reducing !!!

So, what is the cause of it ? And why is it getting worse ?

Please - if there is anyone from EA or Maxis who is reading this, or dealing with this issue ... give me a sign ... please !

First i want to send thanks to everyone, who constandly work to make Sims 4 playable !!

... Yes- i know that the xbox is easely stressed while playing Sims4...

But : i already played households with 1 Sim and 7 horses , and did not have problems like this before !

Meanwhile only opening my private gallery/library is causing a forced graphic-setting that lower the texture (same as saving, travelling and loading the new area, loading worldmap, loading cas, loading houesehold-managment,...)

While opening my privat galery/library i can see, that household with horses need ! much ! more time to show up ! The more horses the longer "loading"-time. (Proberties do not show this problems.)

And of course, the more the texture/pelt of a horse has been worked on/changed the more it stresses the xbox ... so i tried to do everything to lower the stress to my console (for example : only use prebuild horses-changing nothing, playing very small households, try to put as little as possible objects on the proberty, having an nearly! empty library...) , it makes it a little better, but does not make this issue disappear !!!

I realy try to find out what causes this problem ... than i noticed , that the presentation of the household with horses has changed : if there is more then 1 horse you can see that the horses have different size, one is higher, one is thinner... i did not notice this before.

So i asked myself, was that changed with intent - i researched and did not find something about that in the update-news ... than i thought :ok , perhaps that happens while the team is working the "online-galery-problem" ... well - i do not know, if this is connected with my issue, ... but i do know, what i am experiencing actually while playing Sims4.

And in my opinion (based on my observations), it is not just an xbox one related problem.

I am on xbox. For the past few months, sometimes when I want to save it begins the process of saving, then partway thru that I get the "were adjusting your graphics settings so you can continue to enjoy playing the sims 4" message. I have had to start new save files four times in the last six months because of obvious save data corruption, and the symptoms of the data corruption don't appear until after the game starts doing this. Also, once I get the graphics whatever screen during the process of saving, the next time I try to go to manage worlds, CAS, or visit another lot, my game crashes. It does not seem to cause problems with travel when the graphics adjustment happens when I'm not in the middle of saving. Half the time, nothing even changes about my graphics.

This is ruining the game for me having to start over all the time, can't they just make it so the game can't run ANY other process during saving??

The exact same thing is happening to me right now, whenever I've been saving my file before leaving, it gives me the same exact pop up about them "fixing the graphics". Maybe like a week or 2 ago, I'm playing my save file and realize that even though I'm playing the save file, its not there on my saved games when i try to save it. So then I just had to create a new file so it would save the game, which i thought fixed everything. But today, I open my game and the save file is completely gone. Idk what to do and I had been playing with that save file for YEARS. I'm so completely angry and confused, EA needs to fix this. Like genuinely. 

So, I play on xbox one, and recently my game gave me a pop up screen that says "adjusting your graphics so you can go back to enjoying the Sims 4" whenever I try to save and exit my game. 1 or 2 weeks ago, I was playing and I go to save my game but the option to save that specific save file wasn't there, like the save file didnt exist even though I was literally playing it. So then, I just pressed save new file so that I could still play my same households but it'd be in a new save file. I thought that was that and that it had been fixed. Today, I open my game and the save file isn't there, like at all. I'm so confused and I really want that save file back, I've had it for years and I did so much worldbuilding for each generation and I really dont wanna just start anew. I read some tips on how to fix it but nothing worked. Can somebody help or maybe tell me why/how something like this could've happened? Or if something similar happened to you?

this happens to me too!! It’s been happening for a long time now, I don’t even remember when it started. I agree that the game becomes unplayable (for me usually after the second time the adjustment screen has popped up) because the game becomes too blurry. Specifically on clutter items, sims skin details and tattoos and wallpapers. I have only really been playing in my Legacy save over the last year or so and I love to decorate their houses with lots of stuff so when this screen pops I get really disappointed. This pop up means that I can only play for 3-4hr before the game becomes so ugly that I loose interest. I don’t wanna delete my save or change my game because I’ve been playing since about 2019 and it is my fav game. I’m really upset by how often console players are ignored too :(( definitely feels like PC players get priority  

So when the loading screen pop up claiming to adjust the graphics to your game, but when it tries, it makes the games unplayable it makes the items and graphics in general look really bad and the longer you play the worst it gets the pop-up screen is happening more often saving, traveling, and going into cas can cause this issue as well. Can y’all PLEASE look into this when you try to travel the game will push you out sometimes it just push you out in the middle of trying to save as well. This been going on for years I seen and it’s sad that we are forced to play our games like this for those who it is happening to I don’t need to be sent to another page. I need something to be done. I invested a lot of money into this platform and I can’t enjoy my game to play the way that I want and look the way it should. 

Since the February 2026 update I've experienced several crashes every 10-20 minutes. 

The most annoying thing is though, the game "Updates graphics settings" but it makes everything flat and ugly looking. No matter how many times I restart the game it does it again and again. 

I did purchase royalty and legacy and everything is beautiful in the pack until the "Graphics settings" update. 

I would also like to add on console you don't have control of graphics settings. This is honestly infuriating.

Just an update of mine ... :

I played an old xbox  one S ... and with more & more dlcs, my console gets more & more problems, including graphics (and lasting long time saving and loading, performance-problems ...)

Now i am playing Sims4 on a "new" (rebuy) xbox series X ... and  WOW - what a great experience !!! 

Now everythink is running noticeably better and significant faster !!

Sims 4 needs a powerful console.    (... but of course, even that can not help if the programming is poor.)
