[XB1] Cursor moves by its self

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Microsoft XBOX One
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? BASE: 1.23.61.2300
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? None
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? On screen
What happens when the bug occurs? The cursor is moving upwards by its self
What do you expect to see? It to only move when I move it
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No

So the cursor on my screen just constantly moves upwards when moving it and when not. It’s easy enough to manage for most things but it’s very difficult to click on small items and when in build mode.
Has anyone else had this issue and does anyone know how to fix it?

  • So I updated it and it was still moving so I asked my boyfriend if I could use his controller and it worked fine. So seems the issue is my controller, which is annoying since I only got it a month or so ago 😔 I didn’t try his before because when I tried my elite controller it still didn’t work properly but my elite controller works perfectly fine, always has I just don’t use it because the audio port doesn’t work.
Seems like I have really bad luck with controllers😂

Oh well, thank you anyways though for your help 😊

  • I’ve tried two other controls and it still does it. My elite controller isn’t as bad with it but it still moves by its self every now and then.
it’s not to annoying in game but I mainly like to build stuff on it and it’s very annoying when trying to put things in a specific place 😂

Very strange. Does it happen with other games as well? Have you checked to see if the firmware is up to date? You can check that by going to your Xbox Settings > Devices & Streaming > Accessories.

  • No it only happens with the sims I’ve played other games since and not had an issue. I will try looking at the settings you suggested. Thank you 😊

    @MoffGoff

I'm glad to hear you figured out what the issue was. I've had my own fair share of controller issues over the years and this was one of them. You might be able to send your controller to Microsoft for repair. I've done that before and it was a really good experience. If you have any more issues, please reach out to us again. Thanks!

  • I'm having this trouble with my PS 4 pro but will see if my other controller will work

    Hello, @pacer1965

Please start a new thread if that doesn't work. I'm going to lock this one to prevent further "necro-posting".
