Hi @Madisonleopard22 . Do you have any mods or CC installed? If so, please start by testing without the Mods folder and after deleting localthumbcache. Otherwise, though, this sounds at least partly like the kind of problem that OneDrive syncing can cause. Do you have OneDrive syncing your folders?
@Madisonleopard22 Okay, glad we ruled out mods! iCloud syncing isn't usually as problematic as One Drive, so let's just check a couple of other things first.
First, let's look for your saves. Do you have a Saves folder in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4? Can you upload a screenshot of what's in it, including the file extensions?
Second, have you done a game repair? That would happen in Origin or the EA App. (Most Mac players are still on the EA App.)
@luthienrising I do have a saves file! One of the images I've uploaded is of the general Sims 4 file I have, and the other is my saves file. There are quite a few items in the saves file so I've only uploaded a screenshot of the first section but I'm more than happy to upload the rest if that would be useful.
I haven't done a game repair, I use the origin app and have just gone in and seen where to find the repair option, but just to double check before I do it, will it delete anything from my game like sims or houses etc or is it purely just to check if there's anything wrong?
Moved your thread to the Mac tech forum. Could you please copy/paste here the contents of the most recent lastCrash file in that Sims 4 folder. If you sort by list and date modified in Finder it will be easier to find the most recent.
Where is your base game installed? The exact file path please but you can replace your Mac user account name. Is there also a Sims 4 Packs folder in the same location?
A game repair doesn't remove any user data files in the Sims 4 folder.
