downloading sims on LaCie external hard drive (MacOs Catalina)

Hello everyone, I hope someone is able to help me out. I used to have my sims 4 downloaded on my Lacie external harddrive. I havent played in a year, and yesterday when I tried to open up, an error ...

    Ah yeah that problem ☹️ This was fixed months ago but you seem to have it again. Try this:

    - Click on Computer on the left then double click on the "/" for the Macintosh HD.
    - You should see "Volumes" here and then be able to click on your external.
    - If you don't see "Volumes", click in the box at the bottom next to Directory and type in /Volumes then Choose or hit Enter. The window should disappear then reappear again and you should now see your external as a selectable drive.

Actually, if you right click on the file "/" and click on "Show hidden folders" the volume folder will appear. I don't know why it's automatically hidden. So dumb -___-.
