Version 10.13.6 (macOS High Sierra)
@me1odybae Please also provide your computer's specs, as Tremayne requested. Here's how to find them:
In the meantime, you can try running the Origin reset tool for macs:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/
It may help to disable Origin in-game as well. Also, as Tremayne mentioned, Origin was not cooperating with OS Yosemite for a few weeks, although the problem has now been addressed. But it might help to uninstall and reinstall Origin after resetting it.
There's no reason you should lose your saved games. They're in your TS4 game folder inside Documents, and you can back up this whole folder, or just the saves, if you want. You can also drag this folder onto your desktop for safekeeping while you try to troubleshoot this issue. In fact, it's worth trying to launch the game after removing your game folder from Documents—if a file within this folder is corrupt, getting it out of the way could let the game load properly. Once you get the game running again, however that happens, you can move your saves and other content into the new folder from the old one and resume gameplay where you left off.

I have now tried to reset and reinstall Origin, but I still have the same problem, after clicking the icon for TS4 I get the message that it is unable to start the game.
This is the full computer specs except for the serial number:

Just trying to cover all bases here. Did you do everything that is suggested in this post?
Also, have you tried to simply move the entire Sims 4 folder (Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4) to your Desktop? Please DO NOT DELETE THIS FILE. This is where your saved games, saved sims, etc. are. Then try to start up a new game remembering that none of your saved games will appear. If you play with any CC or Mods, they also will not be present.
If the game starts up ok and you are able to create a new sim and play for about an hour, then either one of your mods is outdated or you have some bad CC. You will need to visit the sites that you got your mods/CC from and see if they have updated versions.

I did move the EA and The Sims file but it still does not work.... same error message comes up whenever I try to open it. Trying to move just the Sims 4 file to desktop and programs without being able to open it. Moved it to programs, deleted Origin and then tried to open it but of course since it is a part of Origin I had to download it again, still didnt work. I tried the suggested Firewall option as well but that didn't work either.
