@dzm06 I actually found those suggestions/instructions online and followed them. It did not work. However, I will try again right now to see if I did something wrong the previous time.

@lehoeven Try this:
Change the language to something other than English
Do a "repair game"
See if it launches with the foreign language

- 6 years ago@lehoeven Disabling SIP somehow fixed this? That's really interesting! How did you come to this solution? Do you have any idea why it might have helped? Anything you can tell me about this solution would be REALLY interesting. (Plus, also, I'd encourage you not to do it and to try the language-changing-dance above just to be sure 🙂 )
- 6 years ago@dzm06 I found something online on an Apple related website that this fixed an issue about updating to MacOS Mojave, so I figured I’d give it a try. I believe it is similar to a solution I found for Windows when a security check program blocked Origin for some reason. I will try the language change thing next time I play and will come back to you! 🙂
- 6 years ago@lehoeven Fantastic! Though honestly I'm still really curious why disabling SIP helped. That's ... odd.
I believe a better workaround has also been provided here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/Re-Sims-4-Initialization-error-at-startup-Legacy-Edition/m-p/8431767#M23545 if you'd like to play in your preferred language again.
