iCloud / disk full Problem, -Im stuck in between

Hi Simmers

- I have been looking a lot at the instructions from Bluebellflora, about using Icloud/external disk, but Im stuck in weird space between iCloud and local disk, where my sims suffer. I dont know if I can explain it well enough, but ill try:

(Backstory: Im out of space on my Macbook. I turned on iCloud storage for my documents, as well. But of cause it didn't help, as iCloud still take up space(!). I ended up deleting my sims game from Applications, as I thought it was a copy... I tried a lot of things! :D Origin was quick to redownload it. But actually after I redownloaded my game library of Sims 4 from origin, it somehow took up more space on my harddisk. Even after deleting about 9GB in-game photos! - When I try to start the game im quickly down to a few 100mb - A few attempts have had the game warn me not to continue, due to lack of disk place.

I tried to deactivate iCloud, but then my documents got stuck in the cloud. (Some even seem to have been lost in my attempts between de/activating iCloud). And I didn't get more diskspace. - It just moves around from documents/iCloud/system etc. -  I know I need them back down and accesable, but im out of disk space. (Unless I delete the Sims again). I have fixed the access "road", so It does open my correct saved folder)

Now: I thought it worked out, since when I haven't used the game file since yesterday (and they go in to the cloud) I have almost 2 GB left (enough to play), but when I loaded the game, all my own houses disappeared. - I guess the cloud "took" them. I then wanted to exit the game. - Of cause without saving, but that was not even a possible option. It's blurred out, properly due to the lag of disk place.

As I see it I only have one option (Beside getting a new computer!); getting the game to work on an external harddrive. But im not sure how to do it best, when I can't have the entire game file, my saves, my trey etc., on the harddisk at the same time?

I would like to know how much diskspace the game usually take up at others Mac?

As I keep feeling like its to much, when I play using Origin???

- I have all XP's, GP's and several kits, so beside a few Kits I have it all. I have a folder called "The Sims 4 packs" that is 36GB and the actual game application "The Sims 4" takes up about 22GB

My "Electronic Arts" folder used to be about 10-15GB (I think, Im not sure if it was more. But I only have Sims 4 in it). Now its only about 900MB - Since its dangling in the cloud. - I did delete all video and photos, and a few of the ekstra backups. It should have helped me saving a lot of space, but haven't changed my diskspace! The "Tray" folder used to be the largest, as I build a lot, and is only 180MB right now, obviously also hiding in the cloud, since the houses disappeared when I opened the game...

- Is there anything I can delete?

Sorry this is so long. it's hard for me to explain the problem, so if you made it this far! - Thank you 🙂

Can you help me fiend a solution?
