I just bought Sims 4 Cats and Dogs and it doesn't work. I tried removing my mods folder, restarting my computer, repairing the game, and completely uninstalling and reinstalling everything. Before uninstalling when I would click the "download" button for the expansion pack, it would either start downloading then just say it was completed or it wouldn't even do anything. After uninstalling and reinstalling, the expansion pack showed up in the queue and downloaded with a reasonable time, however the "download" button never disappeared. Every other expansion pack I had downloaded fine. When starting the game it freezes on "The Sims 4" and won't do anything else. Yes, my game is up-to-date, and I'm playing on a mac.

The same thing is happening to me. The game itself opens but because of the downloading not finished thing it doesn't save it.
Yeah, when I first started the game up after uninstalling it said that something was still downloading (the expansion pack), I think the bug is that it doesn't download correctly.
Please can you both run the Origin reset tool then try again.
@Bluebellflora I did so, once again made sure my game was up-to-date, yet it still says something is still downloading and the expansion pack still has the 'download' button that does nothing.
