[MAC] Sims 4 Application Not Responding

Hi!

So I have a 12-year-old 2008 15 inch Macbook Pro [its the first MacBook that doesn't look plastic] and whenever I try and launch sims 4 it starts launching and the little dot that goes under an app when it opens, shows up and then it goes away and sends me back to origin. I've tried pressing long on the sims 4 logo when the dot is there and it says application not responding. I've tried force quitting [origin and sims 4], I've tried unplugging my computer, for context my computer does not realize it has a battery in it so it shuts down if I unplug it. I have legacy edition because my computers too old, and I was on sims 4 earlier today I just logged off to download some cc. Ive tried repairing the game in origin. I also tried removing my mods folder, that worked but when I put it back in it stopped working. I need cc. Please help me, I want sims 4 back.
