Most recent save is a TMP file & Game Won’t Launch

I legitimately have no idea what to do.

I saved my game last night, but the file appears to be a TMP in my saves folder. I'm guessing it didn't fully save and is now a corrupt file? Luckily, I do have another save from a couple of hours prior (which is a ver file). 

Also, I've been having trouble launching the game (application isn't responding). Earlier, I was able to launch the game, except it created a new game. I got worried & thought my saves were gone. When I checked the Electronic Arts folder, I saw that there was a The Sims 4 folder AND The Sims 5 folder (which is the one with my saves). I'm not even sure why a clean folder was spawned when I already have a folder with saves in it. 

It’s also worth mentioning that the game successfully launches IF I drag The Sims 4 folder onto my desktop, but this just generates a new game. 

What should I do? I do have mods/CC btw.
