My Sims4 wont open on MacBook Air

I've been playing Sims 4 on origin on my mom's MacBook Air for a while now, and just recently it stopped opening. I don't know what happened. I'm scared to 'repair' the game because I have a lot of custom content. Help!

Hi @madsgotskills41,

Repairing the game through Origin won't make any changes to your custom content, so don't worry about that 🙂

However, repairing the game will only help if the issues started after updating or installing your game. Did the issue start after you updated your game? In that case, follow these steps:

Rename your Mods folder in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. You can name it Mods old, for example. Just make sure not to delete it.

Try to open your game again.

If it doesn't open, then repair your game through Origin.
If it opens, then check your mods as it seems to be incompatible mods in your folder. More info about mods: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/mods-and-the-sims-4-game-updates/

When I click the sims 4 it says it cannot be opened

No I dont know what patch released is.

Where is your Sims 4 game app located? Or do you launch the game through Origin?

@madsgotskills41 I get this too, especially with custom content. It may sound tedious but honestly, I would remove custom content one by one seeing if that changes anything.

I just Bought the sims 4 deluxe edition for the windows and Mac version however when I launch origin on my Mac book air it doesn't allow me to click on the Mac option on the platform options list, it also doesn't show a play Button when I click on the game it says its pc only and gives me a link to download to Mac but when I click it its the one I downloaded already so I don't know what to do.
