Re: Mac: my game is lagging

@krissypooh924

That's a really great drive, I use SanDisk and they haven't let me down yet.

Is it lagging the same, worse, or less? Can you try a clean Sims 4 folder? https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612394#M163 Make sure to follow the instructions for a symlink Sims 4 folder.

Also updating your OS may help with overall performance. Current version is 12.6.

Which model Mac do you have?

    Thanks. I have the same Mac and my game is really smooth. Please try the new Sims 4 folder as it is most probably something in the user data causing it, now you have a good fast drive.

    So i did what you asked me to do and its much better, it lags, but not as bad. But of course i just realized that the other app i use while playing sims 4 was not running. And that's stream elements. I think that when i play my sims and have stream elements open it makes my game lag . Is there a way to stream my game with out streaming apps making my game lag?  and I've used twitch, obs, stream labs, and stream elements. and i believe there's one more but i can not remember it

    Ah, that would account for the lag. I've no idea about streaming apps but if running at the same time as the game I should imagine you need a Mac with more power to ensure as smooth a process as possible. You'd be better off asking in forums dedicated to streaming, if such things exist 🙂
