We have the seasons thing. Not sure how to repair - would everything be lost if I did that?

Right click on the game in your Games Library in Origin and select Repair Game. No, you won't lose anything although never hurts to make backups regularly 🙂 I think that has worked. Thanks for your help bluebellflora - Hero indeed.
