Assuming you are referring to user data content in the Sims 4 folder, the game does not delete this but your iCloud probably needs checking - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Saves-CC-Mods-or-Library-items-disappeared/td-p/10242133
Macs do not run iOS, that operating system is for iPhones and earlier iPads. Macs run macOS.
Is the desktop icon for the game a shortcut/alias? Or do you have the game installation location set as the Desktop in Origin? If it is a shortcut it means the operating system cannot find the original installed Sims 4 app, i.e. it does not know where the shortcut is pointing to. If it is the actual game installation location, which would not be recommended to install gigabytes of data on the desktop, that is a whole other problem.
If you can provide me with the answers above, we can easily get you back in your game and you may benefit from a little help understanding how the game installs and where it reads data from 🙂
Whilst EA have many faults, they are not responsible for how and where your game is installed, nor your personal Mac settings such as iCloud.
