- @Nat_75 Can you confirm what version of The Sims 4 client you have installed? You can verify the build version by going to the application (probably in your personal Applications folder), right clicking, and selecting "Open package contents". In the window that opens go to Contents. Use a text editor to open the file there called "Default.ini" and look for "gameversion". What is the number next to it?

- @HangryYeti Weird. I know that @Bluebellflora frequently recommends creating a new test account on your Mac and then seeing if installing TS4 from THAT account works. Can you do that? It should give us an idea of if there's something wrong with Origin or TS4 client configs and caches since this would give us a totally clean setup. If things STILL don't work then there may be a problem with the macOS installation itself.

@dzm06 Thank you for your help. Here's all the info that I have :
Game version : 1.58.63.1610 (only base game installed + Legacy edition right now)
Playing on iMac OS High Sierra (version 10.13.6, mid-2011), with a 2,5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor (64 bits), and my graphic card is an
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 Mo.
I can't find any .INI files in my repertory (or around)... But the version written in Origin is v10.4.74-2309-33daaa48.
hello, I have the same problem but my mac has version OS X Yosmit (version10.10.5) I download the legacy edition and when I want to open the ims it puts me the famous message ... I do not really know really not what to do and it's been over an hour that I try ... please help meeee 😞🙂🙂
- HangryYeti6 years agoRising Vanguard@Satiineee_e I’m sorry, there doesn’t seem to be a fix. It’s on EA to fix this, I’ve tried everything they suggested. No go.
Having the same issue. Updated to the Legacy Edition and can't start the game. Re-installed the game. Re-installed Origin. Deleted all files, as suggested by this thread and even downloaded it once again on a new hard drive, once sans Legacy Edition and once with. I've spent my entire free night with this issue and apparently there's nothing I can do. Really wish EA had tested this Legacy edition out before forcing it on us. The game worked just fine on my computer.
Hey everyone, just to let you know I followed these instructions step by step, and the same bug is still occurring. I don't know what else can be done, so for now I'll wait for a solution before I can play sims 4 again (or so I hope).
- @HangryYeti Yes, I think too...😔
