Re: The Light Rays at the Von Windenberg Estate Make My Game Lag

@wthelotus By way of an update, I quit the game, moved the Options.ini file to my desktop, and restarted the game to allow it to set graphics options best suited to my machine. Even with those settings it is doing the same thing.

    I think you may have this issue as RAM was steadily increasing as I was playing https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/CURRENT-ISSUE-Game-Freeze-Extended-Loading-Times-Save-Game/m-p/9721942#M160860

    Try Crin's suggestion of using MCCC to fix the issue with Father Winter and see if it helps. I don't think it's anything to do with the sunlight, that may be happening because of the increased lighting effects in full sunlight which your Mac may be struggling with.

    @Bluebellflora Thank you! I used MCCC to delete the homeless households, and my save file size shrunk dramatically. I'll see if that helps.

    I wouldn't be surprised if my Mac is struggling with the increased lighting effects in full sunlight. Is there any way I can turn that off until I can upgrade to a machine that can handle that level of graphics rendering?

    @Bluebellflora The same thing is still happening during sunny days, so it is definitely due to the limits of my integrated graphics card. But I just ordered a gaming laptop with a dedicated GPU that more than meets the game's recommended system specs, so this should no longer be an issue in a week when it arrives. 🙌
