You could try but as I said in my previous post, the new MacBooks are just not made for gaming. Gaming makes computers hot as they are very resource heavy (processor, graphics etc.). They need fans to cool them down but your Mac doesn't have one so it has no way of cooling itself. To get round this your Mac will throttle the resources so it doesn't overheat. This means that the processing and graphics power needed to make the game run smoothly are limited. Sorry ☹️
Hi @xojmo13xo,
As @Bluebellflora said, your Mac is not the best option for gaming. It's a great computer for work/college, but it lacks a proper cooling solution and Apple did not design it to play games.
The Sims 3 is a very demanding game, it has to simulate both your own Sims and all the Sims in the world. This needs tons of calculations that are made on your CPU and, due to that, it produces heat because it's working. Your Mac does not have fans or a cooling system, and macOS will automatically reduce the CPU load in order to literally save your nice MacBook and avoid it to turn itself down due to heat or even to prevent CPU burning.
To make things worst, you Mac includes an Intel graphic solution, which is a small chip manufactured on the same CPU package. This will rise the heat on the CPU even more because The Sims 3 also needs a lot of power from the GPU in order to create those graphics.
Sadly, your MacBook is not the best choice to play The Sims 3 or any other modern Mac game ☹️
