SIMS 3 MAC: AMBITIONS- NO FIRE STATION LOTS AVAILABLE TO CREATE!? (OR EXISTING)

I have recently gone through the unfortunate experience of updating my mac to EL CAPTAIN and have had to move all of my sims games to origin.... since then, I've lost the ability to have a community lot function as a fire station and can no longer have sims work in the fire station at all.... any ideas how to fix this? thanks 🙂
