I know you think your issue is a Mac bug, and it may be, but please understand that only 3 people have so far posted about this issue. And only you have posted your specs. so there is nothing to compare to. I don't see anything in your Mac's specs. and OS which could cause the issue and it certainly isn't an issue affecting every Mac user playing the game.
Have you checked the bug forum to see if others are reporting this? http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4-Bug-Reports/bd-p/The-Sims-4-Bugs I don't know about gameplay bugs, I only concentrate on Mac specific ones, hence asking for more details.
The EA Community Managers on this site are great and actively read threads (Gurus are over on the game forum, not here).

And yes I understand that only three posted about it, but also a lot of people play sims on non Mac computers, it's more popular on regular desktops.
And some people don't know how to contact people from EA with their bugs, so they just leave hoping they know about it.
And also this bug isn't allowing me and other players who have not be able to play, I can still edit sims and play.
It's more of an annoying thing.
My game was perfect, I didn't change my settings in my computer or anything. It was just a random day of me playing sims and it happened. It worked perfectly fine the day before. That's why I think it's not my settings, that's why I think it's just a regular Mac bug.
Can't assume that just because three people posted about means that they're the only ones who have the bug. - Happening on my game too! Since the most recent update. Through my searches, looks like it's a MAC specific problem
- They think it's something wrong with our settings on the computer since a lot of people aren't reporting it or something with our mouse.

@Bluebellflora That's not true. As I stated in my previous comment, it may be a bug but still people are not posting their Mac's specs. so it's extremely difficult to narrow the issue down to a specific reason. There are no reports of this happening on Windows that I could find so it's Mac specific. And it's not happening on all Macs which is why knowing the hardware and OS, AND the packs installed is so important. Sadly you and only one other over on the officials have reported their specs. You must also take into consideration other software installed on your Mac which may be interfering. For example, apps running in the background may be using resources whilst you are trying to make your Sim in CAS so this could be causing a lag, causing the issue. Or you may have recently updated another App using automatic updates and not realised it. Sierra was recently updated to 12.4 too so again, there may have been an update in the pointing device drivers which may be interfering. It's not just always down to the game.
Did you try the super repair I recommended? And it's still happening when you pull your Sims 4 folder out of the Electronic Arts folder and play a brand new, clean game? Without saves/mods/cc and with the default graphics options (just pulling out your Mods folder is not enough to test properly)?
If we get a few more people reporting it then I'll start a current info thread and collect info. Perhaps you could help too by asking people for their setup information? Knowing what add on packs you have installed would also be helpful.
I've been trying to reproduce this issue on 3 older, different Macs (2007 iMac ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256Mb, 2011 15" MBP AMD Radeon 6770M 1Gb, 2012 15" MBP NVIDIA 650M GT 1Gb) and cannot.

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB- I have all the packs installed into my game that come with sims 4. I have the sims 4 limited edition and the digital deluxe upgrade.
I honestly don't have any other apps installed onto my Mac besides the original ones that came with the Mac.
And when I play sims I make sure other apps aren't running in the background, so everything is closed but the Sims game.
And I have pulled out everything and started fresh, that did not work either. I've done too where the folder is out and I've repaired the game too, and that did not work.
When I played the game when it started happening I didn't have an update to my computer, because th day before it worked perfectly fine. And I think the sims was updated about a week before or so.
I hope it does get figured out soon and it will be in the next game patch.

Can you set up a new user account on your Mac and try playing a brand new game in that account? A new user account creates a new hidden Library folder, as well as obviously new user data,which is where any possible corrupted files may be. As you're the only person actively trying to get this sorted and posting your results I'm hoping we can narrow it down. I've tried reproducing again and still no luck. Are you often in CAS in your game? Were you in CAS the day before this started happening?
If it won't work in the new user account maybe a complete uninstall of Origin and the game is worth a try. Make sure you backup your current Sims 4 folder where your saves etc. are so you don't lose your user data:
- Uninstall the game through Origin
- Run the Origin reset tool then drag the Origin app from your Applications folder to the Trash
- Empty the Trash and restart your Mac
- Download and install Origin then download and install the game. Don't put your data back in yet, launch the game as brand new and try making a Sim to see if it happens again.- @Bluebellflora
I have tried all that before and it did not work, sadly.
I've done the new user and the origin reset.
I've problems done everything you can think of.

I didn't mean just an Origin reset but complete uninstall of Origin and the game. Running the reset tool then trashing the app is the quickest and easiest way to uninstall Origin. You do need to uninstall the game first though (I'll amend my previous post). - @Bluebellflora
Oh okay, I'll try that. Will I loose the packs I have on my account? Like I have extra content from having the limited edition sims 4 and the digital deluxe upgrade. - Has anything come up yet? @Bluebellflora
