No, I don't have any mods or CC installed. I never have before. My sims 4 folder is already on the external hard drive, because there isn't simply any space for sims 4 if it's 22 GB. How do I try a clean game?
I think you're muddling up the Sims 4 folder đ
The Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4 folder is your user data where your saves etc. are stored. This is the folder I am asking you to move temporarily to see if a new game will launch correctly.
The game is installed in your Applications folder and has the Sims 4 icon. Is that what you are saying is 22Gb?

I have moved the folder you asked me to move. Do I need to delete the original if I'm keeping the folder in my external harddrive? It's 570MB. The game is not installed in my applications folder, it's in my external hard drive. Over there it's called Sims4 and 22,14 GB. Included is the screen shot where it says it's 22GB

Leave the game alone on your external drive (the one in your screenshot), we don't need to do anything to that yet.
After copying the Sims 4 folder from Documents > Electronic Arts over to your external drive you can delete the original as you have it safely stored on the drive. Now try launching your game.

@Bluebellflora I moved the game to the external hard drive, and it launched without a problem! I created a family, moved some furniture and played a little all the while it didn't crash. Thank you for helping! Is there any way I can get my old game back without it crashing?

There must be an issue with your previous save, it may have become corrupted âšī¸ This article is really helpful, you could try loading a previous save from the folder you moved - https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/how-to-restore-a-previous-saved-game-in-the-sims-4/

@Bluebellflora so I moved the files, restarted the game a couple of times and it worked! I could play for about 10 minutes before it crashed. I do think my saves somehow became corrupted when I bought Toddler Pack and updated the patch. The game from before that seems to be working fine, although I can not go back to my July saves, only those from January.

Almost there! Can you right click on the game in your Origin Games Library and choose to repair it? That should fix any errors in the installation. May be an idea to back up your saves regularly in case this happens again đ Do you have Time Machine set up? If so can you go back to a previous save using it?

@Bluebellflora alright so I repaired, and opened the game but somehow it saved the newest game I made today (I uploaded my household and lot to my library and put it into my new game) and only opens that. Which is weird because that version.2 , I can not open version.3 . It's not a problem if I can't play that anymore because I only really cared about this household, but I'd really like to save some families and put them back into this new game
