Thanks 🙂 Your game still has Mods in it. Can you please move the whole Sims 4 folder to the desktop and then launch the game so it has none of your content in it. Does it still work?

Removing the Mods folder doesn't seem to make a difference. Like I said in the first post, I can fix the problem without removing the Mods folder. If I delete everything but that, as well as the tray, saves, and screenshots folders, and reopen, the game always loads fine.

How does it work with a new Sims 4 folder and only one of your saves in the saves folder, completely vanilla game.
