Sims 4 deleted save files

Hey, I've owned and played The Sims 4 for over a year and I recently updated it a few weeks ago but never got around to playing it. I logged back into Origin today to play and it said I needed to update it again. Once it finished updating I opened the game to find all my saved games deleted. The game appeared like it had been fully rebooted. I really want my files back and I have tried quite a few things already. I play on a Macbook Air and the saved files are not in my recycle bin. Any help would be appreciated!!

Ok, then they may have been inadvertently deleted from your Mac but the game doesn’t remove them. We can search for any save folders you may have stored somewhere else. Copy and paste this into Terminal and see what the search yields:

find ~ -type d -name "*saves*" 2>/dev/null

This search is looking for all folders called “saves” on your Mac.

Same thing happened to me, also on a Macbook Air. I didn't play for 1 week and came back to myy entire game deleted and saved folder empty.

Can i do these same steps with a windows PC? or is there a different way?
