Sims 4 won't load after July 2020 update when mods are installed (Mac)

Question

I have used mods for quite a bit on the Sims 4 but after the July 2020 update (prior to Nifty Knitting), when I had any sort of mod installed, the save file for the game won't load. I would be stuck on the loading screen forever. Has anyone figured out how to get mods to work on Mac after that update?

I don't think it relates to Mac but could provide some useful info that might help you get your mods working again.

@xbliss526  Move your Mods folder to the desktop, trash the localthumbcache.package file and then try to load your game.
