All my save files are gone

I was trying to play the Sims 4 earlier today, but it wouldn't load my game. I had just downloaded cc, but I already checked and that wasn't the problem. So I downloaded the Mod Conflict Detector so ...

    Ariiww2010  Did you already have a Sims 4 folder on your desktop?  If so, that might explain the problem: the system can't have two files or folders with the same name in the same location.  You would have been asked to keep the original or replace it with the new version, in some form, and keeping the original would mean the new files could get combined with the old, or deleted entirely.

    I understand you don't use OneDrive, but if it's even running in the background, it could be a problem as well.  So please double-check.  You'd see a cloud icon in the lower-right corner of your screen, or possibly in the Tray—click the ^ icon to open it.
