cant launch game after recent update

after the recent update (april 2025) I am unable to launch my game. I try to run it from the EA app and it won't even make it past the first loading screen. I turn the game on, plumbob keeps spinning for few seconds and it takes me back to EA app without any notifications from the system. I've updated my nvidia driver and restarted the whole pc and nothing changed. I also tried to remove my mods folder and delete those cache files, with no result. Nothing seems to be working. Before I updated everything was fine.

Same for me as welll my save file won’t load it’ll play the load in music but frozen on the loading screen.

  • ok so I tried to repair the game by removing whole The sims 4 folder to my desktop. Then I launched the game and it worked and it created a new The sims 4 folder in Documents, so I slowly started to move my copied Mods to the newly created folder. I launched game to see if it was gonna work this time but it crashed again, couldn't load and showed a white screen so apparently its even worse. idk what to do anymore

I have the same problem, I even uninstalled the EA app and the Sims 4 game, and reinstalled it but it didn't help, it's really sad, it feels like everyone's games have some problems with this update

  • mikulean001  Did the game stop working when you added certain mods back, or when you added your saves back, or something else?  If it was the mods, look for updated versions of whatever stopped the game from working, or simply remove those mods for now.  If it wasn't the mods, let me know.

SeriousSimmer  Thanks for the dxdiag, which shows a number of serious crashes of the graphics driver.  So please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver, as described here:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

You can use the newest driver Nvidia provides:

Let's continue in that thread so we're not dealing with three separate issues in this one.

I fear the game crashes because of the mods but also something seems to be wrong with my saves. The game crashed with white screen when I removed whole The sims 4 folder and tried to put only mods back to the new one created by the game (before I started putting them back everything was fine), but earlier I removed only the folder containing saves and it also crashed while mods were still there.

  • Estou passando pela mesma situação, já fiz de tudo, reparei, desinstalei o jogo e o app da EA, atualizei meu note, e nada funciona.. não sei mais o que fazer

I just saw something that said remove your saves file, as in put it in your desktop (Documents -> electronic arts ->The sims 4) and it worked for me!!
    They said to go Here

  • mikulean001  The first step here is to get your mods, and only your mods, working in an otherwise clean Sims 4 folder.  Some may have broken with the recent patch.

Once you've removed or updated anything that isn't working, go back to your saves and see whether you can load them.  If the game crashes when you add all your saves, try adding only a few.
